Had a very disappointing experience here. My friend and I came during their Oktoberfest. She ordered her food first, and then I did. About 10-15 minutes later, she gets her food. A couple of minutes went buy and I asked one of the waiters if they could check on my food order, to which I was told that the food comes out at different times, depending on what grill is being used for it. Ok cool, totally understandable, as it was a busy day due to the event. My friend finishes her food and at that point, it’s been about 35 minutes and my food has still not come out. So, I asked ANOTHER waiter if they could check on my food, to which I was told the same generic response of “the kitchen being backed up.” I waited a bit longer, because I was really trying to be patient, but then I was seeing people who came way after me, get their food at a very reasonable turnaround time, and then decided to go to the kitchen area myself. The kitchen was not “backed up” when I got up there, there were no tickets and the cook was actually waiting for them to give him a ticket to prepare. I told the person behind the register my situation, and she tells me, the kitchen is OUT OF CHICKEN! Are you kidding me right now?! I was waiting at my table for 45 MINUTES, asked two different waiters, and not one of them decided to tell me this vital information. I was livid! I asked for a manager, told them what was going on, she went to the kitchen and apparently my chicken sandwich was given away to another table. How in the world does that even happen, when I places my order 45 MINUTES ago! No one seemed apologetic about the situation, and the only thing said, was “we’ll comp your meal for you” which is honestly the LEAST they could’ve done to rectify the situation. I will not be coming back to this establishment, and I hope my review deters others as well. Such a terrible terrible experience for...
Read moreI've been to over 75 breweries as well as others in Sacramento that I enjoy. I decided to stop into Touchstone recently after I saw their connection with climbing gyms, being a mountain climber myself. I stopped in for lunch with my daughter on a hot day, and was welcomed by the friendly staff as if I was a regular. One of the employees gave my daughter an Otter Pop which she loved and was very thoughtful to do so with the hot temps outside. I ordered the short rib and brisket burger with a couple sides. The food was amazing and most importantly the beers were excellent! I loved their west coast IPA's they had on the menu and I made sure to get some to bring home. I couldn't be more impressed with the atmosphere, food and drinks. The customer service was the best I've had at a brewery/ restaurant in a long time. Not sure the negative reviews about finding the place, I had no problem using Google maps.... Also I live several hours away in a small town with no homeless. But anytime I go to the city especially in California I'm not surprised to see homeless, It's not the breweries fault. No need to let that stop you from having a great time at the brewery. I can't wait to come back again...
Read more“Where is this place anyway?”
I made the mistake of trying to tip 3 times and was graciously denied with a smile on their faces each time. “FINE!!!” I said. Nice group of devoted employees.
We sat for a small party outside. Drinks and food were brought out to our table/s swiftly and professionally. Really good food too. Bar food of sorts, but good bar food. The deep-dish pizzas were tasty. The only drawback to a rather 5-start review was their asparagus yet flavorful and beautifully displayed was wayyyy overcooked and very mushy. All the other food ordered was fine.
Nice place. I don’t remember finding anything that said Touchstone except the glass, and the name was on every glass. What I saw was various names of various climbing, beer drinking, bar or climbing gym equipment whatever names. It took us 15 minutes to find “Touchstone”. Everything outside said Pintworks, Pipeworks or whatever . . . Just be careful if you don’t pull into the correct place, another block behind is a very condensed homeless population. Kinda spooky when not expecting it.
Do stop in and give it...
