Carpathia Club — Attraction in Saint Clair Shores

German Festival: Hosted by the Carpathia Club Fathers Day weekend, my brother and I figured that this would be a great place to take our dad up for a few beers and some sausage. Imagine our disappointment to find out that the German Festival appeared to be sponsored by Labatt Blue, with the only German beer offering being Spaten Lager (at a premium pour price of $3/12oz draft at pitcher price). There were no dark beers offered. The food offerings continued this trend, with the sausage offerings (from Dearborn sausage) including Hungarian brats, smoked brats, or weissurst along with pizza, hot dogs, etc. They offered saurkraut (warm, although they could have disguised the igloo cooler they served it from), potato salad (tasted okay but shouldnt have been cold!) For the three of us I paid $14 for 3 sausages (probably 4oz each) a small scoop of potato salad, a small scoop of saurkraut, and two slices of uneventful white bread with the faintest hint of rye. All in all it seemed to be a bit of a big money grab, with the club charging as much as they could for as little as they could get away with...I hope that things are better for Oktoberfest, which in the past they have at least had some...

I've been a dj for 23 years and candidly that makes me a banquet food and venue pro !! The food here is as good as the best I've had anywhere and frankly it's better than most of the 5 star places I deejay at. You can tell it's not freezer food and is made with the love these people have for cooking. The wait staff is also noticeably attentive to the guests with people owning up to their responsibilities. It's truly an impressive place. In addition the facility felt clean and welcoming. Brides - this place is a gem and honestly I don't take the extra step to do a review unless a place warrants it. My wife and I had our reception at Carpathia Club on 9/10/16. To say they went above and beyond would be an understatement. Karen and her staff were very attentive and made our night outstanding.
