Our family of 3 (including our 20-year old daughter) spent two days canyoneering with Paragon in late March & early April of 2023. Todd, Supe, Stacie and Maggie are THE BEST! We had done some climbing and mountaineering back east and were comfortable on rope so with limited access to some of their standard routes, Todd and Supe busted out their extensive black book of routes that they save for clients (though it felt like friends) they deem capable. We had SOOOO much fun with them. They provided all the gear as well as simple and absolutely delicious lunches, took zillions of great pictures, answered my innumerable questions about anchors and belay systems and lead us through stunning - JAW DROPPING - beautiful slot canyons, crossbedded candy colored slick rock bowls and domes, and off 300' precipices! Their ethos meshed with ours perfectly - simpler is better, less is more, everything with a life hanging on it was backed up and equalized. We felt 100% safe and carefully looked after but not doted on. The routes we did turned out to be EXACTLY the kinds of day-long adventures we had hoped to do. And we never saw another person on either day. My wife and I were so impressed with everybody we met at Paragon that after our daughter had to go back to school we signed up for the Intro to Canyoneering Course and spent a third day in slot canyons with Supe making sure we understood the risks and rope work of technical canyoneering. After we left St George my wife and I felt capable and prepared and we went and did two 3A/B technical slot canyons on our own! We are very grateful to everybody at Paragon (truly a highlight of our trip) and can't wait for the next time we are in Southern UT to spend more time on some of their hand-picked adventures in the wild and beautiful canyon country...
Read moreIf I could write two reviews for separate categories, I would. I will begin with the staff at Paragon adventures are caring and professional and I appreciate the attention and patience they showed my significant other when she struggled with the climb back up to the launch points of the zip line. Paragon earned the 5 stars for their patience and I truly felt that they cared for and ensured the safety and comfort of their customers. That being said, however, the price point for the zip line for (2) people left me feeling disappointed and ripped-off for the actual zip line adventure event itself. The zip line is advertised as a zip line tour which conjures up varying routs taking you to different scenes of the landscape. I realize the description for the event says (4) traverses at 600’ each but I was not expecting that the (4) traverses included taking the same two routs twice. Since it was only my lady and I, we paid the $199 dollar each price for the tour which yielded a total of over $400 after taxes and fees. This was for a total duration of 1.5 hours (including the 15 minute drive to and from the location, each way) for a lack-luster zip line experience. The go-pro video, included in the price, does not justify the price either. If given the option to eliminate the video for a more reasonable price, I would have taken it. To be fair, I would seek Paragon out for further adventure tours as I do believe that the staff is knowledgeable and cares for the customer. I would not, however, take part or recommend the Mojave zip line tour due to a lack of value in the experience for the dollar spent and I would be far more diligent in defining the scope and duration of other events prior to choosing to do business with Paragon...
Read moreWe did the day-long canyoneering tour with Todd, Fio, and Leo. It was an amazing experience trying something new and getting to see the canyons in a way that wouldn't be possible otherwise. Paragon was amazing in making sure we were all comfortable, safe, and having fun during the excursion. Since many of us had not done any kind of rappelling before, Todd set up a quick training session the day before free of charge where we got to try our hand at rappelling and he got a chance to assess our skills. Our group was made up of people of all ages and he made sure we were all comfortable and able to perform the rappels the next day. You can tell the Paragon team cares about your safety and wants to make sure you have fun during each excursion (even our member with a fear of heights had a blast). They took some amazing photos, served us a delicious lunch, and provided a worthwhile unique experience we will never forget! We had a blast and it was definitely the highlight of our vacation! I would recommend a tour with Paragon to everyone visiting Utah and we will definitely do another one next time...
