What do you do when your 4 year old reliable washing machine sounds like it’s going to throw nuts & bolts at you? You call Mr Appliance, that’s what you do! I quickly googled appliance repair and found myself speaking with a service rep at Mr Appliance who set me at ease right away and did everything she could to get a repair tech same day. That didn’t happen but she got me set up for the next day. She fully explained every detail of what I could expect. Talk about exceeding expectations! I was notified via text and email that afternoon of the time window in which to expect the service tech, gave me his name and accompanying photo! The next day Jake Story arrived at my door a full 15 minutes before the scheduled time (8:45-10:45 am. He got straight to work with diagnosing the issue-of course the machine was quiet and not making those crazy sounds it made for me. (Murphys Law!) Jake explained possible scenarios and thoroughly examined the washer. He said not to worry if the washer acted up after he left at any time in the next 30 days he would come back. He also suggested that I use the video function on my iPhone and take a video of the washer and contact the office for next steps. Well as soon as Jake left I put a load in the washer and sure enough the noise was worse! I videoed what it was doing, called the office and the rep said she would have Jake call me back. We connected that afternoon, Jake watched the video while we were on the phone and said it was the drain pump. By the way I mistakenly used a paoerclip replace a missing zipper tab on a bag a couple off weeks ago-when that load finished no paperclip! Jake ordered the replacement drain pump which got to him Tuesday. I had a call from the phone rep. She scheduled me for last Wednesday with a 2 hour window (12:45-2:45 pm). Wednesday afternoon at 12:15 there was Jake! The replacement too about 10 minutes to complete. Jake is thorough, caring and knowledgeable. He takes great pride in doing his job and is extremely tidy. Oh and the paperclip? Was sticking out if the drain pump like a flagpole! Thank you Jake! You are Mr...

Scott, the owner called me and made everything right. He was gracious and kind, and I was once again treated as I had always been treated in the past by Mr. Appliance....like a valued customer. Scott turned a negative experience into a very positive one. It's nice to know that people still stand behind their work. At some point, I will need a new dryer....and Scott @ Mr. Appliance will by my first stop. Thank you again, Scott!
I bought a reconditioned washer 81 days ago. When I purchased it they let me know that the washer had been given a thorough once-over with the exception of the transmission (which is understandable). They said that they guarantee the unit for 60-days but that if something went wrong with the transmission and it was close to the 60-day mark that the owner was pretty good to still fix it anyway. So here we are at 81 days and my washer has quit working. I called Mr. Appliance and the gal at the front desk let me know that since it was after the 60-days, that there was nothing they would do about it and reminded me that it said so on my receipt. I understand. I bought knowing that it only had a 60-day warranty. And they've got every right to hold me to that 60-day mark. But in the spirit of good Customer Service, you'd think they would go another 2.5 weeks since it's most likely the transmission (that they didn't check) that is having the issue.
Just be aware when you buy a washer from them..that no...they won't actually go beyond that 60-days on the transmission.....even though they say they will.
That being said, I've bought a few washers/dryers from Mr. Appliance over the last 15-20 years and have always had a good experience with them and their reconditioned units have always lasted for years...until now. If you're considering buying from them, keep in mind the fact that you're possibly paying a few hundred dollars for a unit that may not even last 90-days....which makes for a very expensive washer and a very...
Read moreI wish there were words to express how dishonest and unfair this business is.
Our kitchen, dining room, living room and 2 hallways flooded on Christmas Eve at 2 AM. We had up to 1/2 inch of water in some spots, and we sustained extensive carpet/ceiling/wall damage in the basement underneath the flooded area. This was due to the front hose on the dishwasher coming loose and spraying everywhere for about 15 minutes, until our child was awakened by a "waterfall" hitting him on his bed in the basement.
Anyway, we bought a new hose, pulled out the washer, and reattached the hose ourselves. Then I drained water from the pan underneath so that the sensor would allow the dishwasher to run. After removing all the standing water I could see/feel, we still continued to get an error message.
The repair man came, noticed there was a very small amount of water that had dropped down behind the sensor, he tipped the washer forward a little, he soaked up the small remainder of water, and then...CHARGED ME $107.28!!! He told me, "You were so close. You almost had it." Oh, nice. I almost had it. That's great to hear.
It took him about 3 minutes. That was just enough time for him to make a few rude/snarky comments and then rob us. I did not appreciate his attitude, but what can I do really? He didn't even reattach the washer to my counter or replace the kick plate. If I had him do that, I'm sure my bill would have surpassed $200.
I should have tipped my dishwasher slightly forward on my own, but I'm still recovering from falling through my attic floor 3 weeks ago. It's 2020, so I'll just deal with that and a very greedy, dishonest appliance repair and keep that lesson in the mental file should a future need arise. Please do not call...
