Lilac Park — Attraction in Saint Louis Park

To respond to an earlier comment, this is not off the Luce line! It is on the Southeast quadrant of Highways 100 & 7. And is located along the Southwest bicycle trail, not the Luce line! From this location the Luce line is several miles north. I am frequently in this location especially during summer bicycling. I would have definitely call this a "destination location". Lots of nostalgia, I went to beehive parks in the early sixties, when Highway 100 was largely what it had been back in the 30s. The design is true to the original, and leave restored one of the original beehive grills. Plenty of tables also done in the original construction design. There's a porta potty available, but...

Love this park! Only complaint is the beehive is NOT functional and is LOCKED UP. The only value it has is historic. I wish the public was allowed to use it. Beautiful park and a waste of space when it comes to the beehive. Shame it...
