Lots of nostalgia, I went to beehive parks in the early sixties, when Highway 100 was largely what it had been back in the 30s. The design is true to the original, and leave restored one of the original beehive grills. Plenty of tables also done in the original construction design. There's a porta potty available, but limited parking.

Cutest little pocket park! We took some photos for the Christmas cards and had a picnic on the benches. We even got to enjoy some fall blooming lilacs. I haven’t been there in the spring, but I bet it’s beautiful when the lilacs bloom.

Enjoyed being able to visit this small park while Lilacs were in boom! I moved from Wisconsin to Florida and lilacs do not grow there sadly. Smells glorious. A cute little part to stop and have lunch.

To respond to an earlier comment, this is not off the Luce line! It is on the Southeast quadrant of Highways 100 & 7. And is located along the Southwest bicycle trail, not the Luce line! From this location the Luce line is several miles north. I am frequently in this location especially during summer bicycling. I would have definitely call this a "destination location". When the 'beehive grills' were first constructed in the 1920s it was in a rural setting, and this was a Sunday afternoon destination location for people to come to to have picnics out in...

Love this park! Only complaint is the beehive is NOT functional and is LOCKED UP. The only value it has is historic. I wish the public was allowed to use it. Beautiful park and a waste of space when it comes to the beehive. Shame it...
