I tried giving this store a chance. I've been going here for 7 years. I assumed after years of complaints that I'd seen and heard others making that Target would do something about this location but that does not appear it will ever be the case, unfortunately.
They don't keep up on stocking or inventory. This is the only Target I go to where every time I order online at least 2-3 of my items will show as available then I'll get notice later they weren't. This occasionally happens at other Targets but never with this frequency or severity. If shopping in-store shelves will frequently be empty or near-empty. They don't stock overnight so when they finally get around to stocking they will have huge pallets in the way of large sections of the shopping area so you either have to go around or wait (and they are in no hurry).
The staff is also some of the least helpful of any Target I frequent. Today it took 10 minutes during a non-busy time (2PM on a Monday) for anyone to bring out my Drive-Up order and the person that brought it out didn't even apologize for the delay. It has never taken that more than 2 minutes even during peak times at any other location in the Twin Cities.
And their morning staff huddle takes place during open hours in the middle of busy sections of the store. Twice I had to ask them to move so I could get to something. Once they completely ignored me, once I was told "we'll be done shortly". That, to me, is mind blowing that they would refuse to move for a paying customer especially for a meeting that could and should be done before opening and in an employees-only area of the store.
The good news is the Knollwood Target isn't much further away and is much better stocked, maintained, and staffed. Save yourself a headache and...
Read moreThis target constantly seems to be under-stocked. Every time I come here it seems like all of the shelves have been ransacked like it’s Black Friday. I rarely find what I’m looking for.
But I give this location two stars instead of one simply because it’s the only place I can find a wide selection of PopSockets in various colors, and no other Target that I frequent (which is a lot, I LOVE Target) ever has a decent selection of PopSockets. That may not matter to everyone, but that particular product is important to me because I have a large phone and small hands, and multiple phone cases that each kind of need their own one because switching them from case to case to case makes them not stick.
Anyways, I suppose the staff at this target are about as friendly as any other, one guy in particular was particularly helpful with a return I wanted to make but was still unsure about. He recommended I go to the bathroom or a fitting room and try it on one more time and see if I’m in love with it, can’t live with out or — if it’s just okay and I could do better. I tried it on in the bathroom to be quick, and realized the garment was actually really itchy and that alone would prevent me from wearing it because I know that I won’t wear uncomfortable textures against my skin. So that helped! Though I did return some shorts I wished I hadn’t because he said they looked like pajamas...
A Target is a target though but definitely some are better than others. They do have really nice bathrooms at this location, what’s up with that? Is that an Edina thing? Why not have nice bathrooms at the Ridgedale location in Minnetonka, another rich area?...
Read moreI wanted so badly to love this specific Target like I usually love all Targets but this has to be the WORST Target I have been to in terms of customer service. I believe the leadership is severely lacking in professionalism and tact. Specifically- there is a service manager by the name of Mike who was very condescending and rude when speaking with me about an issue of returning an item for an EVEN EXCHANGE!? Never have I ever had to pay the price difference for an EVEN EXCHANGE FOR THE SAME EXACT ITEM. If I had to do an even exchange- the price was adjusted on the same item to match the refund amount. I've never had an issue. When asked if this is company policy- he replied each store is governed by their own policies and since this location has a lot of theft - they can use their "discretion" when exchanging items! There are SERIOUS ISSUES with this and I do believe Mike targets (no pun intended) people and discriminates based on ethnicity and has his subordinates do the same thing. This is not okay in the least. Target- what kind of policy nonsense, discrimination, and unfair treatment is allowed at this location??? This Target is closest to my home and I will now intentionally drive out of my way to the Knollwood location to avoid this location. Mike- SHAME ON YOU. Shame on you for even insinuating repeatedly that me exchanging baby diapers from my baby shower could be fraudulent. Why would I waste my time, blow my cover, and ask to speak to a manager if I was committing fraud?? You ruined a valuable and loyal customer. One thing that gives me peace of mind- what goes around comes right...
