TLDR; Some great, some not so great items, okay price, website could be better, give it a try for yourself. We've been coming here off and on and I've been holding off on a review to get a more well rounded opinion of the food and service. We've tried quite a bit, from the Alambre, Lindos Special, Fajitas, Tamales, Nachos, Chimichanga, Birria Tacos, Multiple Street Tacos, and on & on. There are things we really like and things we'd never order again. When the food is good, it's REALLY good, but it tends to be a bit inconsistent depending on time of day; also wether you're picking up, eating in, or getting it delivered. On the good end some portions are great and WELL worth the value and great flavors. On the bad end, meat can be very dry/bland at times, and ingredients are inconsistent or missing. I also would personally recommend not getting their side of rice as of late. You get barely a few centimeters of rice in a tin for $4. And some of their "combos" are priced to be more expensive then buying items individually. You can't use the website to order things like Fajitas because there is no option to select if you want Beef, Chicken or Shrimp. And if you try to order something like a side of tortillas, there is no option to choose flour or corn. Small things like that build up to affect your overall experience. We use Doordash for delivery & pickup. We've also had our drinks missing from our order before. We don't eat in often, but the service has always been prompt and polite. I think this is a place that has some really great potential because when the food is hot and fresh it is pretty amazing. But your individual situation will definitely vary. I encourage you to try for yourself.

Edit 4/30 - I went back for another visit but this time the Wet Burrito, Piccadillo and chorizo. Total with tip was just over $20 so I wouldn’t say it’s the lowest price place. The burrito was really good. A bit more beans and rice than I would have liked but it a lower cost way of giving you more food. I would consider this Mexican comfort food. The bacon was an interesting add but I would ditch that for more fresh avocado and tomato inside but that is just my opinion. I would like to get a wet burrito Christmas style, that is where on end is a red sauce and the other is green so you can try both. I would still go back and plan to try the torta. Original Review- So I saw this place open yesterday and stopped today for Birria Tacos. It took the place that use to be the local pizza/calzone shop. I have to admit while the pizza was good I was glad to see I real Mexican Taco shop takes its place. I have reviewed a number of Mexican is St Louis Park and Golden Valley and this is definitely one of the best. Their food isn’t Chipotle type Mexican, it’s much more like what I grew up with in Los Angeles. Today I had the Barria Tacos and I will go back on Tuesday to try something else. This place is going to be very busy this summer after everyone finds it. Great addition to the neighborhood with the best Mexican flavors and ingredients. Excellent execution “Taco Shop” one of their burritos are up next!

Usually Americanized Mexican food places are bland and leave much to be desired. This place is great compromise. It has enough of the Mexican spices to keep the connoisseur happy, but not intimidating for the American pallets. The Agua de Jamaica (I believe it’s hibiscus flower) is fantastic. They don’t load it up with sugar like the majority of the places, allowing you to taste the citrus tangy taste. The presentation of the food is fun and a well thought out makes for grate Instagram pictures. If you’re into that sort of thing, you will see my attached unprofessional picture below with the salsa that I spilled right before eating it to get an idea. I lived in Southern California, including downtown for years and have visited Mexico for extended periods of time with my family so for somebody like myself that it’s already spoiled it doesn’t quite meet my high expectations but it’s still a good eat, it’s different. I definitely recommend that everybody tries this place out….

DO NOT recommend this place at all. It was our first time giving it a try and had the worst experience. First of all, after I payed and went to sit down, the lady at the register had the audacity to yell from across the bar that my card declined when she had already giving me a receipt and even pulled out my bank statement to show her and she still insisted to take me to the register and pay again. After I’ve seen on the screen what she was tryna charge me for, I proceeded to tell her that I did not order that, it was a complete different order and she kept insisting that it was mine and that my card declined when I literally had pulled up my bank statement and even showed her my receipt. I payed $57 for what we ordered and she was tryna charge me $34 more for somebody else’s order. I even told her if she had checked in with the person who ordered after us and she claimed that nobody else ordered after us but we literally remember seeing somebody come in at the same time as us and even heard when he was ordering AFTER we went to sit down, after arguing back and forth she finally remembered that there was someone after us. However, it’s insane to me that after SHOWING HER MY BANK STATEMENT AND MY RECEIPT she refused to let me go sit down until I payed. And for the amount of money that I payed my burrito was salty. I definitely recommend for you guys to try other places and do not waste your time...
