Como Park, Zoo, and Bonsai Garden constitute a captivating trifecta of natural beauty and wildlife exploration. Nestled in the heart of St. Paul, Minnesota, this destination seamlessly blends the tranquility of a Japanese-inspired Bonsai garden with the excitement of a vibrant zoo, creating an enriching experience for visitors of all ages.

The Como Park Zoo is a delightful haven for animal enthusiasts. With its diverse array of species, including primates, big cats, and aquatic life, the zoo provides an educational and entertaining journey into the wonders of the animal kingdom. The well-designed habitats prioritize the well-being of the animals while offering visitors an up-close encounter with the beauty of nature.

The adjacent Bonsai Garden adds a touch of serenity to the lively atmosphere. Strolling through meticulously manicured landscapes adorned with these miniature masterpieces evokes a sense of peace and appreciation for the artistry of bonsai cultivation. The garden serves as a picturesque oasis, inviting reflection and relaxation amid the lush greenery.

What makes Como Park truly special is the seamless integration of these diverse elements. Families can spend a day immersed in the wonders of the zoo, exploring the intricacies of the Bonsai Garden, and enjoying the natural beauty of Como Park itself. The well-maintained grounds, educational programs, and conservation efforts make Como Park a cherished destination that not only entertains but also fosters a deeper connection to the world of flora and fauna. I am a lover of everything Como Park has to offer. So I was so happy to hear that the zoo and conservatory were opening back up again. Reservations were easy to make online, the line to then get in was short and moved smoothly, the zoo was comfortable to walk through with NO crowds and with the ability to really social distance yourself from others. Mask wearing was required at ALL times, even outside and I noticed everyone wore theirs and respected that requirement in the zoo and in the conservatory, within the buildings and outside. Loved that! The animals were out and about and the pace of lingering to stop and watch them was just perfect! The one way path worked so well! Very well thought out, organized, with signage and sidewalk labels to lead you. And with no crowds, animals were easy to see! The conservatory was a one way path also and the flowers in the sunken garden were just gorgeous! It was a perfect weather day to finish our trip to the park with a stroll through the Japanese Gardens! Well done Como, we had a fantastic day!!!...

I visited Como Zoo with my two little boys the weekend of April 10. It was an extremely disappointing visit. Although signage and maps online and in the Zoo indicate there are wolves, there are none because they died a few years ago. It's time to update the information and stop disappointing customers. Many animals were in extremely dirty cages. The poor harbor seal had multiple pieces of feces in his very small pool. He wouldn't even face people coming by his exhibit. We didnt see any staff interacting with the animals or guests. In addition to the wolves not being there (permanently), there were multiple other animals just not around, such as the tiger, tortoise, and some seals. No signage indicated why. I wish we would have gone to a different zoo, one that clearly invests more resources into the animals, their living environments, and staff. We won't be going...

Great experience with the grandkids. Spent the day at the zoo and had a great time. The kids really enjoyed the Sparky seal show. We saw all the exhibits, lions, tigers, bears, apes, monkeys, giraffes, wolves, etc. It's a great way to spend a beautiful summer day in the Twin Cities. Best of all, the zoo is free admission, though donations are recommended at the door. Food is a little high as you would expect, but it goes to help support the zoo, so it's going to a good cause. Parking can be difficult to find, so plan on having to spend some time finding a spot. It took me approximately 10 minutes to find a parking spot the day I visited, and this was on a weekday. Weekends are usually quite busy.
