Excellent spot! The owners were incredibly nice and the drinks have a good variety of fun takes on cafe classics. I had the raspberry cortado and an iced brown sugar cardamom latte. I appreciated that both were not too sweet, but had just enough to give it some flair. I do wish that the iced latte had a 3rd shot of espresso, but there's really only one place I found that does that (Roots Roasting), so this was still good, despite not being strong enough for me. The turkey sandwich was incredible (has a quite spicy kick, FYI). The place is small and was packed. I appreciated that the kids zone was separate in the back, as some places have screaming kids let loose all over the place. I'll definitely be back! Great place to grab a drink and then walk around Como lake. Editing to add: there were a lot of people camped out with their laptops, which made it hard to find somewhere to sit. I think for a place that small there should be a laptop time limit. Once you're done with your coffee and wrap up some light computer work, other paying customers should get a chance to sit down with their...
Read moreThis shop served me the best espresso I’ve had all year.
It hits all the marks of a great local third space third wave coffee roaster/cafe.
The coffee was expertly roasted and prepared. Ever the drip (I got the light roast) was delicious. I went back every morning I was in town. The cortado was a touch acidic for my taste, but that’s a personal preference. The double shot I had the day before was 🔥
The staff was super friendly. I chatted with the barista for a few minutes and really felt cared for and like the customers matter. Even in my subsequent visits I was treated with care and attention.
The space is small, but inviting. Lightly decorated, but not gaudy or like they’re trying too hard. If happily sit there for a few hours working if I had the time to. The neighborhood is lovely, quiet (at least in the summer mornings) and I felt very comfortable here.
I’m definitely making this my go to coffee shop next...
Read moreLOVE having Karol in walking distance and right in the neighborhood. the owners and staff are friendly and so welcoming!
the coffee is fabulous. we love buying their El Jugo beans.
the matcha, not so much. ratios are waaay off - not enough matcha in the lattes. took one sip and had to pass.
I had their breakfast sandwich and it wasn't for me. the english muffins were chewy, the sausage was average, and the egg was bland. too bland for something as expensive this was.
acoustics: I hope acoustic paneling or curtains along the walls or columns could be added to deaden the space. the room unfortunately gets so loud and it's hard to have conversations.
overall, we're very lucky to have Karol in the neighborhood serving up awesome coffee and service. with a few tweaks, I think Karol can...
