Coffee Pot Park — Attraction in Saint Petersburg

TLDR: great playground (no shade from 10-3), but turf ground, boat ramp, trail all the way to downtown for a run or ride

My kids loves this playground. All turf in the fenced area. There are two toddler swings and four primary swings. The play structure is pirate ship themed, with a few slides and even a treasure hunt. Does get hot in the sun as there is no shade until after 3pm, so slides should be avoided after 10a on a sunny day.

The park is situated near the water and there is a small boat ramp on site, so you frequently see small boats and kayaks going by. Parking is limit on the park, but there is plenty along the street.

There is also a wide sidewalk that goes south toward downtown along the water so this park is a great place to park and start a run...

Great place, but homeless people do stay there often, in numbers and all day. Taking up the roofed seating area entirely. All 3 benches. They are fairly nice and not on drugs, however they mess horrible. In spite of this the park consistently reminding us of our pathetic housing, social welfare, and wealth distribution failures here in the USA, I still recommend visiting coffee pot park. It's wonderful. A great to go boating! There is a playground for kids, and a beautiful walk through a neighborhood full of houses valued higher than my total lifetime income. A cute park with a fenced in playground w/astroturf. Came here with the intentions of being able to catch some fish while my child played but in my experience the water is too shallow from where the water is accessible which led to us repeatedly hooking leaves, and all docks were gated and private except for the small boat dock. We did spot a manatee close by in our attempts to fish and decided it was best to leave. I would not try to fish here again due to the inaccessibility and the manatees do come close to the park. But this is a good free parking playground for children and the water views are beautiful. It is pretty shaded...
