I was very dissatisfied with the customer service and the food.
My boyfriend and I decided to finally try this place instead of our usual Tijuana Flats. As I approached the counter to order I asked the girl for soft tacos with refried beans, Lettuce, tomatoes, onion, salsa and sour cream. After getting laughed at she says "we don't have refried beans, look at the menu and pick one of our menu items"!
I said "ok no problem"! So I briefly glance at the menu and see pork. I said "ok I'll do pork soft tacos with Lettuce, tomatoes, onions, salsa and sour cream. She laughs at me again (with attitude) and says " so do you not like what comes on the pork tacos". I said "no not really, can I just pick what I want?" She replied with " no not really we don't usually customize orders, but I guess because it's slow I'll do it" ( keep in mind the attitude was something fierce). So I said "okay cool thanks". Then my boyfriend goes to order who is very picky, he too was changing the menu item, taking off the things he doesn't like and adding the items that he preferred. So she finishes our order and says "ok that will be $19.97". We paid, get our food and go home to eat. We pull the food out of the bag and it was exactly what was on the menu. All the things we asked to be removed and/or changed (and had a very hard time doing) was not done. Not to mention the soft tacos were the smallest things I have ever seen, and the pork was very dry and not good at all. Now I am in no way cheap by any means but to spend $20 dollars on something that would not even fill up a 2year old, that was made completely wrong, and I got the biggest attitude when ordering my food the way I wanted it, to say I was dissatisfied would be an understatement. It wasn't even worth calling them and going back to have my order re-done correctly. I wouldn't even go through that embarrassment and...
Read moreI met a friend for lunch at Casita Taqueria in St. Pete. The vibe is definitely casual, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and it felt like your typical taco shop. That said, the tables weren’t the cleanest when we arrived, as if the staff was just a bit behind after the last round of customers.
Ordering is counter-service style, and the staff were friendly and personable. I went with the birria tacos and a side of chips and salsa. The salsa came in such a tiny container it was only enough for a chip or two. The tacos themselves were a letdown; soggy, falling apart immediately, and flavorless. The beef was bland and chewy, and I ended up eating them with a fork. Not ideal for tacos.
The staff stood out as kind and welcoming, but other factors dragged the experience down. Parking was frustrating since I had to use an adjacent residential street, and the restaurant itself was uncomfortably warm, which made conversation less enjoyable.
This was actually my second visit, and while I might go back if it’s the most convenient option, I’d definitely order something else next time.
Star Rating Justification: Friendly staff and a casual vibe, but disappointing food, limited parking, and comfort issues make it more of a “just okay” spot I’d only return to...
Read moreThis place never disappoints! We have been frequenting this taco joint for a good number of years now. They have a very consistent staff that works there, I give my order to the same gentleman almost every time, have been since the beginning. My only wish is that they would go back to their old tortillas. I believe they used to have an in-house lady at the 4th Street location that made wonderful tortillas. During the pandemic my understanding is that they did not have the business to be able to continue supporting her position and they made changes to their sourcing of tortillas. I do know that they are now making them again in-house, just not at the 4th Street location. However, we greatly miss the old ones! I love the decor of the restaurant it appeals very much to my metaphysical side. They have two very large booths and several tables inside and a few picnic tables outside with a bit of shade covering from awnings. Be sure to check out the specials on the wall when you go in! The best tacos that I get from there come from the...
