Caribbean Retreats — Attraction in Saint Thomas

I booked my initial place at lime tree resort through Air B&B (which was a time share), and it was horrid. I had safety issues, blown fuse, room was filthy, and so was the furniture and “clean towels.” By 11pm AIR B&B informed me they wanted to get me out of the situation and gave me the “thirsty Mermaid” listing. I requested to reserve the thirsty mermaid with Caribbean Retreats, sent a request with an additional message of my situation and the owner of Caribbean retreats gave me her number. Her first words were, “ do you want to leave now?” I didn’t have transportation and she came to get me and my 10 year old son at 1 am in the morning (we were a distressed call/dire situation). First, to be humanized and seen in that moment. To hear don’t come out until I tell you and I’ll have my head lights on facing the walk way. I was so emotional. We got to the thirsty mermaid, she brought snacks for us to be comfortable, her concierge was amazing, the property was breathtaking and so clean. I refuse to ever stay anywhere but with Caribbean Retreats if I visit the USVI. They referred me to a trusted taxi driver who when he couldn’t pick me up, gave me the direct contact of someone who could. I had the same group of drivers my entire trip. The listing exceeds expectations and I LOVED IT. We are so grateful for Amanda/ Caribbean Retreats and staff and I will never forget her kindness it’s unmatched. The entire management group communication is A+ (even on the weekend).My experience was so amazing and my son enjoyed the private beach and other amenities. Taxis were convenient and came within ten minutes of calling (its approximately $20 per way from the condo to downtown st Thomas). We enjoyed ourselves and even took the ferry to St. John. July 2024: Coconut Cottage was exactly as described. Our family of 5 loved our visit. The grounds are beautiful, especially the pool area that over looks Charlotte Amalie. The pool area is well lit and has a great ambiance for hanging out around at night with the coastal breeze. The house was stocked with everything we needed. The beach towels, laundry detergent, and toiletries were an extra nice touch. Brian met us when checking in to give us a tour and answer any questions. We walked in to a welcome package of juice and rum for rum punches, stickers, coupons for local shops, and a welcome note. Brian also showed us how to eat a passion fruit that was part of our welcome package. We only had to reach out to Brian via text a couple of times during our stay, and he was very quick to respond and helpful. We didn’t have much of a problem with power outages during our stay, but the house has a back up generator just in case. There was a regular coffee pot and a keurig for the coffee drinkers. We enjoyed seeing the iguanas in the trees each morning while having our coffee on the balcony. We met the owner and his cute pup in passing a few times, who were both very friendly. On our last day, fresh bananas from the property were hung up for us to pick and enjoy. Everything was clean, and comfortable. The air conditioning worked great. We would turn them off when we left during the day, but they would quickly cool the space when we returned. The fridge was stocked with condiments from other guests, so we left some of our things for other guests to enjoy, like a cooler and 2 beach chairs. Pay it forward! Delano was awesome! He went over and above for us in a crunch! This was our first time staying on the island. We were staying at another location that was hot and had a less than ideal view. On the second to last night of our stay, I was so miserable that I searched for another location to rent. I found Jefe's Poolside Oasis. I messaged the team at Caribbean Retreats. They were extremely accommodating and we met Delano when he met us to check in. He recommended a tour and gave us great suggestions for a local experience. The next morning we left late to return the rental car before our flight and my wife forgot her diamond earrings on the coffee table. I messaged Delano! He went to retrieve them and brought them to us at the car rental location. When the car rental shuttle failed to show up, he even drove us to the airport allowing us to make our flight 5 minutes before they stopped boarding!! All of that said, Jefe's Oasis is great stay! Clean, cool a/c, and stunning views. We will be back and know to book with Caribbean Retreats...
