Unfortunately, we had a pretty bad experience coming here. I would say tourists beware and ask for the prices of the dishes before ordering. The menu posted didn't have any prices and we just assumed since it was a truck it would be less than a sit down restaurant (our mistake). When we asked the total, they said $23, we gave them $40 and when the woman went to give us change the man working with her stopped her and said it was actually $43 (for 2 dishes). The fact that all the sudden the price had changed (and by $20) made us feel like we were being swindled. Sicnce they had already given us our food so we felt like we had to just take it and leave. I wouldn't tell anyone not to try the place but just don't make our mistake and ask for the prices...
Read moreAre you kidding me? You didn’t stop? Our neighbors sent us to Charlo’s as a must stop. We’re not curry people, but the BBQ metaphorically put me back at my parents’ table. Local Mom & Pop at its pinnacle. It’s that spicy-sweet sauce on well cooked ribs that sent me back to childhood. The rice and beans quietly counterpoint the stardom held by the ribs and chicken. Oh my gosh. I’m in love. The Mac and Cheese is your Grandma’s: moist inside, toasty on top. The coleslaw is on the sweet side (not vinegary), studded with plump raisins. My wife is mainly a vegetarian but eats fish from time to time, she was very displeased with her meal. I had the curried chicken and there was not anything wrong with it, but not great either. Both came with beans and rice that was good. Mac and cheese that was ok, and lettuce with ranch. Given my wife could have asked more questions and maybe us or Charlo were just having an off day, but I don't think I...
