I wanted to be an archer since I was a young child, but for reasons that need not be divulged in a Google review, I did not have that opportunity. At thirty-three years old, I chose to pursue my childhood dreams and came across Pacific Crest Archery. In the best way possible, my life hasn't been the same since. I am at the shop multiple times a week, and it's not just for the archery (although it has become one of the greatest loves of my life). Ray, the owner and my self-appointed trainer, is truly one of the most incredible, kind, and knowledgeable people you will ever meet. He treats everyone who enters the shop like family. I have never seen a business run so purely as Ray has done it. Cole and Ray's wife, who also work there, do a fantastic job and give the same feel to the shop. If you're there to learn, Ray and Cole are experts and will teach you in a gentle, informative way. If you're there to buy, they'll give you the best options out there. If you're there to shoot, welcome to the family. Everyone who shoots here is kind to one another and we have a community. And if you're there just to hang out, well it's great for that too. Ray has poured his heart and soul into this place, and it's a place I feel blessed to call my...
Read more"This feels like a brand new bow!" Those were the only words that could come out of my mouth once I shot my 3-year old Mathews V3 after Ray gave it an overhaul.
I had taken it to two other "high-end" Pro shops here in Oregon, and none of them even bothered to check if my bow string was even done to speck: my ATA was over 5/16 inches off! Ray caught this issue right away, and proceeded to take his time to ensure that my bow was taken care of properly. Not rushed. Just precise work from top to bottom.
The end result? Arrows stacking, crisp back wall, rock-steady hold, and aggressive punch down-range. I guess I had never really felt what a Mathews V3 should feel like before I took it to Pacific Crest Archery.
On top of all that, what really hit me differently was the kindness that Ray extended to me and my family… I wasn't treated like an nuisance for asking questions.
Definitely worth an hour drive for me...
Read moreSo this is one of those hidden gems, it's not in a spot easy to see and I didn't even know it was there even know I've drove that road a lot until a random lady I was talking to at Walmart shopping when I was told me about it. I've only been here once but the clerk was so helpful and cared more about finding the right product for the right customer. Bows are a custom thing and he wanted to make sure it would be a right fit. So my oldest kiddo and I (she wants a bow for her bday coming up) are going down next weekend to fit her for a bow. He's ganna try and find us a nice used bow so we can stay at our budget as well. I saw a lot of hunting pictures there of the clerk so I'm going to take a guess he has been a huge part of the business or he owns it. Either way awesome guy and awesome place. Can't wait to go back and...
