Me and my mom went to this store 2 days ago for the first time. We grabbed a bite at there little restaurant area first and ate there. All was good and the employees that attended us were friendly and decent, All except for one. We enjoyed our visit up until when we went to get meat from the carniceria area, the man attending there rolled his eyes at us as soon as he walked up to ask if we wanted to get something (as if we were interrupting him) my mom and i both noticed and it made us uncomfortable because clearly he did not want to attend to us. He had a look on his face of bothered and and over it the whole time when he was taking our orders. Why do people like that work where there going to have to deal with different people? maybe they need to look for a job where there not going to have to talk to or deal with others. Anyways Then a woman lined up next to us (she was white and with died red hair. she was pretty) for something and when the “man” finished up with our stuff and saw her HE CHANGED THE LOOK ON HIS FACE COMPLETELY, he almost smiled. It was so disgusting and wrong of him to treat us differently then her. i’m never going back and i wouldn’t recommend you guys to either. Have a good day :) and remember to spread kindness and not hate. By the way thank you to all the workers who were friendly (the staff in the restaurant area)and deserve our politeness. one man was super great because he was trying to be as helpful as possible and he had just gotten there and then left...
Read morePlaza Morelia is a hidden gem in the Salem-Keizer area. This has been my go to for authentic Mexican food for some time. Anything from tacos to pastries with so many things in between. This is a restaurant, carnecería and general store. Today we order Menudo, tortillas and picked up our usual sugared donuts. The menudo is served with a side of homemade tortillas and garnished with onions, cilantro, toasted chiles and lime. You can order it with or with out pata. But the real hidden gem of this store are the sugared donuts that are made fresh throughout the day. These giant, fluffy, deep fried , sugary clouds are to die for! These donuts are huge and reasonably priced. My husband will eat their homemade tortillas. We only buy their homemade tortillas and we eat them daily. They are silky soft and thick. They accompany any...
Read moreI stopped in just for the bakery, so I'm only reviewing the pan dulce. Good selection, not the largest in Salem/Keizer but better than some places. The store is kind of hidden in plain sight and easy to miss. We grabbed a couple items and both were excellent. Pumpkin (or was it sweet potato?) empanada was soft and good. The big sweet bun was velvety smooth and soft. Not too sweet and sugary like American pastries (these are not junk, previously frozen, grocery store donuts). Guy at the counter was very nice. My Spanish is awful, and I was probably the only white guy in the store but I felt more than welcome. I'll stop again for sure. A good Panderia will not...
