The Japan Sage Market is an amazing store, they have everything Japanese; from Lacquer-ware to food items, they have it all! Seriously! I cannot get over how welcoming the staff are, or how well-stocked, clean and delicious their food, both packaged and fresh, is.
Addendum(s): Just tried one of their Salted-Plum rice-cakes and, honestly, (even going-in thinking it was sweetish) it was DELICIOUS! My god, so simple, yet so fresh and delicious I want another!

I've been trying to eat here for months to taste their ramen, but since they don't serve after 2pm it can be pretty inconvenient. After what felt like a million attempts I finally made it on a rainy Friday. The sweet little Japanese market is a treasure for foodies who need to get rare Japanese items or even more common ones. Better yet they serve ramen, and I am a sucker for a good bowl of ramen. You can buy their ramen for less than 6 bucks, or order it in a combo with gyoza for less than 10 bucks. Less than 10 dollars for ramen and gyoza? I pay more than that for ramen alone at other places! With such a great deal I ordered the tonkotsu ramen with gyoza and sat down. They have very limited seating, perfect for single eaters. 10 minutes later the food came with some water. I thought they gyoza was tasty, had a nice crispy edge that I love. The ramen was good for the price, but I really missed the pork flavor from the broth. It lacked some of the saltiness I've had with other tonkotsu ramen, almost as if the broth needed more time to develop. I also missed some egg in my ramen, I wish we could have the option of ordering egg at an extra charge. For the price, I think the ramen was good but not amazing or better than anything I have ever tasted before. Since the ramen was so cheap, I see myself coming back and trying all their other...
Read moreWatch out!!! Fraudulent activity here. One of the workers filmed my sister’s card and then proceeded to make false purchases here.
We had gone to this store to make a purchase of a few snacks and things for my sisters graduation. Purchasing our items we were leaving the shop when my sister saw a plushie she thought our little sister would enjoy. I left to go get the car while my sister stayed behind to buy it. When she had gone up to the register the older women asked to see her card. Which was strange as she didn’t ask for it with the first purchase. She then proceeded to hold it up to her computer and spin it around. Not only did she blatantly do this with my sister questioning her she also did when there were several other people in the shop. Now, my sister thought it was strange but she was in a rush so she quickly left afterwards. It wasn’t till later when she saw new purchases on her card that she knew what had really been happening. This is not what we expected as first time customers at this store. For someone to take advantage of a lone woman in public like that is not respectable and frankly...
