Walking into The 14 Peaks Restaurant felt like stepping into a little piece of Nepal right here in the U.S. From the moment I entered, I was welcomed by the warm scent of spices and the friendly smiles of the staff. The place was incredibly clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated with traditional Nepali art, prayer flags, and instruments that instantly reminded me of home. It wasn’t just a restaurant—it felt like a cultural homecoming.
The food was the highlight of my visit. I tried the momo, dal bhat, and their special chicken biryani—and everything was absolutely delicious. The biryani was packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and had just the right amount of heat. The momo was soft and juicy, with a flavorful achar that tasted homemade. Every dish was a perfect balance of authentic Nepali spices and comfort. I could tell the chefs really care about delivering genuine, traditional food with heart.
What truly moved me was the atmosphere. As I enjoyed my meal, I heard traditional Nepali music playing softly in the background—songs I grew up listening to. The presence of cultural decorations like madals, thangka paintings, and traditional hats made me feel emotional. For a few moments, I felt like I was back in Nepal, sitting with my family and enjoying a home-cooked meal. It wasn’t just about the food—it was the entire experience that made me feel so connected.
I highly recommend The 14 Peaks Restaurant to anyone craving real, authentic Nepali cuisine and a taste of home. The food is delicious, the place is spotless, and the atmosphere is filled with culture and warmth. Whether you're Nepali missing your roots or someone curious to explore traditional Nepali food and music, this is the perfect place. I’m already planning my next visit—and definitely ordering the...
Read moreThis is a really amazing Nepalese / Indian option in the Salt Lake Area. Everything my wife and I had was excellent.
First they give you what I believe is papadam, a lentil cracker, with three different sauces. One was mint based, one was a tamarind based sauce and the other was raita which is a yogurt based sauce. It was awesome! The mint sauce was my favorite by far but all their sauces were good.
My wife ordered the tomato soup and it blew both of us away! It was really phenomenal. Such an amazing flavor. Complex in a way yet still a very comforting tomato soup.
I got the 14 Peaks Special Chicken Curry. I ordered medium because I wanted my wife to be able to try some. Medium was too hot for her and a little less hot than I like, but it did have a noticeable spiciness that I enjoyed. This is more a relationship problem than an issue with the heat level of the dish. I had originally planned to order the Chicken Saag and I sort of wish I had done that. I liked what I got but I really love Saag. Now I have to go back so that I can try their Saag. There are not losers here.
My wife got the Chicken Sekuwa Shadako. The server initially tried talking her down form that dish, but then relented saying they could do it. The concern was that this dish might take a longer time to cook. We were there at about 3pm, which I know is not prime time in the restaurant industry, so I got it. The end result was worth it! That dish was delicious! Perfectly cooked chicken with an amazing assortment of herbs and spices and some peanuts and cashews that my wife really appreciated. The flavors popped, hard!
Overall service was great, the flavors were amazing and I have a new favorite for Indian / Nepalese food. So happy we had a chance to experience...
Read moreFrom the moment we entered 14 Peaks Restaurant, we knew we were in for a treat. The cozy, inviting ambiance set the stage for what turned out to be an exceptional dining experience. We started with a delightful Samosa Chaat, which was perfectly crisp and paired with a tangy tamarind sauce, offering a delicious contrast of textures and flavors. The Chicken Sekuwa followed, grilled to smoky perfection with a flavorful marinade that gave it a wonderful depth of taste, served with a zesty chutney that added an extra kick. For the main course, we enjoyed a hearty Goat Curry, where the tender, slow-cooked goat meat was bathed in a rich, aromatic gravy with just the right amount of heat. It was the ultimate comfort food, especially when paired with soft, steaming rice. We also indulged in some delicious momos — both steamed and chilli— which were light, flavorful, and expertly made. Each bite was satisfying, with the dipping sauce offering the perfect tang to complement the savory fillings. What really stood out during our visit, though, was the service. The staff at 14 Peaks were attentive, friendly, and eager to ensure we had the best experience possible. They were always on hand to offer recommendations, check in on us, and make sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. The genuine warmth and care shown by the team made a big difference in elevating the meal.
