Lots of trails here! Big rock park is made of 3 sections, a north park, central, and south park, all connected. As of 3/16/25 the south park is still currently under construction although part of it is open. The parking areas are at the north park and central park. I started at the north park which has a zip line for children as well as various play structures. entering the trail from the north park a nice little bridge greets you to the trails and there are maps at every intersection. the big rock for which the park is named is in the north park. the trails continue to the central park which is where the tree house structure is (and its huge!). it is closed to the public to go inside except a few months a year (and you have to make reservations). However you can walk underneath and around it to marvel at the monstrosity. The south park has some trails open already but just a few, the rest is under construction and I did not see any parking area there, I think it's just the central park parking area as that is the border between central and south big rock park. All the parks are dog friendly just have to keep them on a leash and there is plenty of dog waste bins around. This is a really nice park and is actually a better park than the trails at klahanie. Best park in sammamish I've...
Read moreBig Rock is an underrated park, with short but smooth walkable trails and lots of tree cover in a somewhat small woodsy area that is still nicely isolated from the whoosh of road noise. The Big Rock itself is a magnificent glacial erratic that’s fun to drive over with your R/C crawler (take care climbing on it when wet!). Maybe the only complaint I have is just how many other parks in King County are also called Big Rock. I’m also disappointed that people graffitied the big rock and some have left their late-night picnic trash behind. I appreciate that the portapotty out front is typically well maintained and the park never gets uncomfortably crowded - parking is always a cinch. Bring a small trash bag and some gloves and leave the park better than...
Read moreBig Rock park is an excellent park to be enjoyed by children, adults, and seniors alike. The park enjoys the usual accoutrements of slides and swings but also boasts a zip line and small tunnels for children to enjoy. The park is spacious with several trails with little elevation gain and wheel chair accessible. There is a small creek and a very large erratic near the back of the park children can climb on and a gateway for discussing how this state was once buried in the last ice age. There as ample parking, leashed pets allowed ( please clean up after your pet) and, when it snows, a safe place for children to...
