Marquis Ballroom — Attraction in San Antonio

What should have been a night to remember for my grand daughters quinceañera was quite a disaster. To start off, the DJ (I was told comes w the package) so we had no choice in the matter since my grand daughter liked the set up (unbeknownst to her-the outcome), the DJ messed up the song to which my grand daughter & her court of Honor were SUPPOSE to dance to--started off wrong, my grand daughter asked for a do-over so they can do it again, she was so embarrassed as everone just looked on. Then, he replayed the music AGAIN the one he started off w at the beginning. No 80s, hardly any Tejano music, MAYBE 2 Country songs, didn't bother to announce "mother" while giving my grand daughter her last doll, a dead time w NO MUSIC playing as we're cutting the cake. I DO NOT recommend this DJ AT ALL, not for important, memorable occasions. As the headache continues, we/our guest were served an hour late than what was agreed on--- Then our tables were missing "gold" plates for our guests to be served, not enough silverware. A freakin' nightmare. To top it off, if you're needing rehearsal time-you are only allowed 1 hour (technically 52 mins) because they start getting you out before your hour is up-thats is NOT enough time AND only Tues-Thurs, they're not available to accommodate you on a Friday. It is a nice venue, but this does not compensate Ofer the lack of customer service. We just held an event at this venue. The lady in charge told the client that they will clean up. They charged for the clean up fee and DID NOT come through. The linen and Decor crew was there to pick up the linens. The lady in charge told the linens crew that that the cleaning crew will get there in an hour ir so after the event was over. This is not what was informed to us. We were Informed it would be clean, so the linen crew could pick up their items. The lady then says if the linen crew does not want to wait the hour or so then they could clean by putting all the trash on the tables to the side to pick up. This was not doable as the tables were full of items. We ended up cleaning all the tables when the contract included and charged a cleaning fee. I will never recommend this venue. Really nice place. Have been to two events at two different venues at this location and both were really nice.

I don’t know anything about pricing, requirements for catering or music, but the place does have (I believe four) different venues in one place with at least two of them being spacious, well lighted, and overall really nice.
