Oakwell Trailhead Park — Attraction in San Antonio

Beautiful park and great concrete walkway. Bikers are very rude, do not call out approach, definitely riding faster the 15 mph posted. We experienced 2 bikers heading in different directions towards wach other, neither slowed down or called out approach. Walkers in both directions were forced off the path so as not to be run over! Either needs to be patrolled by Park Rangers or possibly dedicate separate areas/routes for walkers/runners vs bikers. Surprised this lack of respect hasn't caused serious...

Oakwell TrailHead Park is a gem! There's a convenient parking lot available. The fully paved, wide trail easily accommodates both bikers and hikers. Almost the entire trail is shaded by beautiful overhanging oak trees, making for a pleasant experience even on warmer days. Been walking this Trail head for about 5years and love it. Always have walked the trail with my husband, today I walked it with my sister and it was o.k. the scenery was a little dry muddy and the salado creek was recently flooded by the recent storms and flooding so all the brush and trash have collected in the tree's and brush area, but the trail was clear to walk.
