La Michoacana Supermarket — Local services in San Antonio

If I could I would give a zero star for poor customer service. The cashier was very rude and uncopperative. After purchasing hamburger patties, I noticed how the bag of burgers I purchased felt as it was filled with air. So I decided to open the patty bag and noticed the discoloration of the meat. I walked right back into the store and asked for a refund while showing them the meat and they denied it to me. I went to the back and asked one of the employees about the fridge where the meat is at and apperently they shared, it was broken and was getting repaired. Unbelievable!! They are still selling meat produce like this. I called the health department because the manager refused to refund me my money back and said it was ok to still eat meat. Health department will be visiting this store soon. I will also be getting in contact with the GM to ask about training there managers on customer service...

They have a big meat selection. Can not tell if the meat is being kept at the required cold temperature since there are no food thermometers showing that to the customers. I do not believe that it is a city health requirement but, it would be nice to know. The staff behind the butcher counter were very helpful and courteous. I bought a variety of Mexican sweet bread. Bad mistake on my part. The sweet bread tasted old and stale. Must had been 2 to 4 days old. The sweet bread was hard, dry, and had a musty smell when I opened the plastic bag after getting home. Disgusting. Had to throw all of it away. The store is well stocked, organized, and clean. It is on the pricey side on a majority of the merchandise. Much better prices at HEB, Walmart, and Target. I do recognize that this is a specialty store and it caters to certain customers but, it is...

We went the other day to Michoacana to buy lard. It was on display and priced at $1.89 each. I bought the 8 pints that I needed. When I got to the cashier they rang up at $1.89 per pound. I had taken a picture of the display and showed her where it said EACH not per pound. The manager came and tried to argue with me about it and she is not letting me have it at that price. So my husband stepped in and asked her if she was going to change the price on the display and she told him yes.
