2023 OCT - AUTHENTIC THAI FOOD, MODEST PRICE, GOOD PORTION… I have all the above while lending my support to this center. I recently had the Chicken Curry dish. It’s a very healthy dish. The sauce was light (I can tell when it rinsed off easily even with cold water), white meat only was used (a little disappointed for me as I love dark meat but my cardiologist must be happy), the potatoes were perfect. I wish they have Tofu curry though. For now I will continue to enjoy this chicken dish. The Fried Fish was nice and crispy. I always had the Peanut Balls especially when the weather got warm. My downfall was the fried bananas. Yes, yes…quite deep fried, I know. But they were so good I would just pay back with a 60 minute hot pilate. All in all, we are so fortunate to have this Thai temple in our area. This is compassion in action when the venerable ajahns and the volunteers take care of our spiritual, mental, and physical well being. May you all be well and happy.
AUTHENTIC PORK MEATBALL NOODLE SOUP If you travel to South East Asia you will find this soup wherever you go. In Thailand, Viet Nam, Kampuchia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore or Hong Kong... we eat this soup at anytime of the day. To me, this is the best ‘HooTeew’ (as called in Viet Nam) in this whole Bay Area. The broth is clear and lightly seasoned. The pork meatballs are soft and tasty. The ground pork and fried garlic define the taste of the soup. The julienned cabbage adds some crunchiness to the noodle. Even when dark clouds move above the city and guts of wind rattle the plastic sheet above my head, I thoroughly enjoy this noodle soup to the last spoon. At the below average price of $10 per bowl, the generous size bowl gives me a perfect main meal of the day. I do plead guilty of gluttony when, even already full, I can’t resist the crunchy and lightly sweet fried yam, banana and taro. Hot and crunchy and not oily at all, I can have these alone for lunch. Most of all I am so grateful that the Sunday food court opens again at...

I grew up with it. I’m so happy with this new discovery. It’s best for breakfast and it helps us avoid tons of sugar as with the American type. In SE Asia, you will find people sitting around on the side walk enjoying their Steamed Buns with coffee early in the morning.
First and foremost, the DOUGH was so good—chewy and soft and with just enough amount. The buns I used to buy have too much dough. I rarely ate the whole thing. The amount of dough here was in perfect ratio with the filling.
The filling was made with ground pork, mushroom, boiled egg, and some onions. It was so tasty, seasoned perfectly, in generous amount.
I keep them in the freezer and defrost & steam them to serve. Next time I hope to try the sweet buns (filled with egg custard). This is one of the best additions to the Temple’s menu.
This temple is a place where we can enjoy authentic Thai food and make merits by paying respect to the Buddha and the Bhantes. 🍁🙏🍁 We are such...
Read moreI'm commenting on the food and not actual service at the temple. First time walking in, we're greeted by a sweet lady. I we told her we've never been here before and she gives us the run down. Basically it's cash or Venmo. Cash is better for them as the sales of food helps the temple directly.
Each food item is $10. Easy. I should have taken a picture of them menu but didn't.
We got the green chicken curry (it's spicy, well if you don't eat spicy, I thought it was perfect), fried chicken which had about 8 pieces of chicken, and the fried pork. The fired chicken and pork came with sticky rice. We also got a mango sticky rice for an additional $5. Everything is what you expect, delicious. Keep in mind the chicken...
