"STAY AWAY !!" DO NOT STAY HERE !! I'M WAS MORTIFIED by the actions and behavior of manager and his (wife) assistant ! My room was located 2 doors down from the front desk.. I asked where I could smoke the employee said to go out front turn left and the side of the hotel is where I was to smoke . when you exit my room to the left is the door to the outside of the the hotel stairs..where employee said I was to smoke... It was Not labled an email exit and there is a key pad to swipe my key to enter the hotel .. The morning I was to check out, I asked some friends to stop in and visit me at my room..A couple of my friends showed up to visit and go out for breakfast..My one guest had been collecting his recycling cans and bottles for the day and parked his hard work off to the side of the hotel while came to my room..After 20 minutes in my room he decided he wanted a cigarette and check on his recycling materials...My friend/my never came back to my room. I went to go see why he wasn't back in my room ? I found him up at the bus stop waiting for a bus with his recycling materials..He said he was told to move along and he was not welcomed at there property and to leave immediately or the police would be called ! He was so hurt and embarrassed ! I wanted my guest to be treated as such ! I went back inside of the hotel to speak with the manager! I was shocked and so angry that people can do that to a guest ? The manager/owner says that, No homeless people are aloud on the property ! I was to leave the hotel immediately and was NEVER TO COME BACK ! HOMELESS PEOPLE ARE NOT WELCOME AND I INFORMED HIM I WAS HOMELESS and he said that I was lucky enough to have a stay without a deposit .. He also said my friend had an encampment on the side of the hotel...it was the only time he had been there ! Who is this man to say who is homeless? What if he is a millionaire and that's his recycling thing !! I will never go here and neither should...
Read moreThis hotel is unexpectedly nice. The street it's on (El Camino Real) is a far cry from Rodeo Drive, but the hotel is relatively new and extremely clean. My room was large and bright and scrupulously clean. The closet is an open area just inside the door, which was a bit disconcerting when I first walked in, but other than that, I have no fault to find. Plenty of connection points for various devices. Free continental breakfast. An elevator. A one-cup Keurig coffee machine, mini-fridge, and microwave in the room. There is a free shuttle to the airport which runs morning and evening, but not mid-day. Be sure to sign up for it when you check in. Although the area in which it's located is a bit seedy, the hotel itself is fine. There's a liquor store, Mexican restaurant, and BBQ place in the block across the street. There's a Walgreen's in the next block, and Roma's Deli (where I ate lunch and killed time until check-in) on San Mateo Drive across the street from Walgreen's. All in all, I think I chose well electing to stay at Hotel Aura. Special thanks to Pravina (I hope I got her name right) for recommending the Roma Deli and arranging for me to check in earlier than the regular 3 o'clock check-in time. Her kindness went above and beyond her duty and was much...
Read moreHotel Aura is a good choice for somebody flying in or out of SFO. They offer a shuttle service from the hotel to the airport for guests - but be sure to inquire about the shuttle service schedule because it is not 24/7. |They also have free parking at this property, which is remarkable for the Bay Area.|The room itself was okay. The beds, which were advertised as queen-sized, did not seem to be that big. I thought they were more like full-sized beds. I am 6'3" and my feet hung off the bottom of the bed. |The room had a microwave and small refrigerator and a TV, and the bathroom had an adequate supply of towels and soap/shampoo/conditioner. The water flow in the shower was fine, but the water flow in the sink is truly just a trickle. I asked the front desk person to have a look at it; when he came up to the room and saw it, he told me it was the same in every room at the hotel. It was not acceptable to me, however. |The breakfast room on the 2nd floor was small, and the offerings were some of the worst I have seen at a complimentary hotel breakfast. The egg choice was a folded omelet wth cheese that was not that good. The cereal choices and bread choices were very limited. |The staff at the front desk was very friendly and as helpful...
