This beach looks nice at first glance, but don't be fooled like I was. Beneath the waves, there's a whooooooole lot of rocks and sharp shells, both big and small, all along the water and it just goes on and on in both directions along the beach. Even walking in the water is risky because of all the rocks that go flying from the waves, hitting your feet and legs, and your face if you get knocked by the waves. This is no place for swimming, and especially don't bring your kids here. Walking along the beach is painful! There's so many rocks on the beach, it feels like walking on sharp glass shards! Don't believe me? Just go here yourself and try to walk and swim 😂 Good luck! Edit: I walked down south all the way to the San Clemente City Beach, and it was WAY better! It's only like a mile or less away, skip this beach and go there instead!!

Beautiful location. Not as busy as other popular beaches but much nicer. The actual beach is narrow and intially rocky until you get near the water. A few paces south of the train station. Access to the beach is in front of tower 14 crossing the train tracks. The passing train is also quite a sight to see since it comes so close to the beach and the pedestrian crossing. Parking is easily accessible. Restrooms facilities are available but not clean. There is also a small playground south of the restroom which also is in a scetchy part of the beach. The are fire pits available.

Coming to this beach has been incredibly therapeutic for me at this phase of my life. Experiencing the death of loved ones first hand for the first time; dealing with the long aftermath of grief... Then during the heat wave, I was essentially living out of a U Haul, miserable, and fighting with my beloved every. Single. Day. He would drop me at this beach, and as soon as I got on the sand, I was mellow. For the rest of the day. I almost wanted to sleep here! Things are better but I miss going to this beach. It has done a lot for me.

This is a small but nice beach. The parking lot isn't very big either but if you show up early you should find a spot. This beach would've gotten five stars if it wasn't for two problems 1: The rocks. There's quite a few washed up onto the beach itself and more in the water. Once you get out onto the ocean they mostly dissappear but I wouldn't recommend trying it unless you had swimming shoes 2: The two times I've been here I've been harassed by homeless people. The first time was some guy trying to bum a cigarette off me and the second time some hobo got mad and threatened to call the cops when I refused to give him a drag of my joint.

TL;DR go in the morning when there's parking and watch out for...
