If you are looking for a vet I would 1000% recommend Governor. The whole team at Governor is hands down the best. Always has been! They go above and beyond any vet office/team I have ever encountered.
It's taken me a little extra time to be able to write this review as its been a rough time for us but I know I wanted to and needed to do it. We were clients before COVID but then switched to a closer to home vet because we needed to get our pups in for some shots at the time. Fast forward to March of this year, one of our pups was having some concerning issues and our current vet couldn't fit us in. I called Governor out of the blue with my concerns and they had us on the books and in the office in a few hours. I've said so many times over the last month that I am so glad I called and went to Governor again.
From the first apt with Dr. Rowe I knew we made the right choice to come back. She and the team took very special care of our Penny until the very end. They were extremly kind, (Dr. Rowe would sit on the floor giving Penny love every single time we came in!), super helpful, called and checked on us throughout all of the testing and procedures we had to do. I could call and ask to talk to Dr. Rowe or get an appointment with no issues.
Sadly we had to say goodbye to Penny on 3/31/25 but every single person we talked to or worked with were sooooo wonderful. One of the hardest days for my husband and I and we still felt taken care of and always knew Penny was in amazing hands. On top of it all, the day I went to pick up Penny's ashes from the office I came home to an arrangement of flowers that were delivered from the Governor team! So unexpected and thoughtful.
They have a loyal family in us that will always bring our fur babies to them. I am so greatful for their office and team. I thank my lucky stars that a friend referred us years ago and...
Read moreDr. Feinberg took great care of my kitty for nearly12 years. Two yrs ago my girl was diagnosed with diabetes. They were awesome about allowing me to do my own thing and providing guidance when I wanted to change insulin brands, try new meds or supplements I read about, do new tests, etc, getting prescriptions, returning my panicked calls to discuss new symptoms and issues, and getting me in for emergency appts when her health further declined. I lost her in June and I'm just thankful for the care they provided over the years! I called Paws into Grace to come to my home to help her pass and Governor still sent a card with a hand-written note from the doctor that touched my heart. When I'm ready to rescue my next furry best friend - I can't imagine relying on anybody other than Dr. Feinberg to help my friend live the best possible life.
The only thing I would mention is to really be clear with the techs if your pet needs special attention. During 2020 things were crazy so I didn't get too upset when noticing that nails would be missed during trims and once there was one cut way too short and I could tell it hurt her and they had put something on it to stop the bleeding. She got fleas while very ill (not sure how as she was 100% indoors) and she was weak and could not scratch so I asked for meds and for her to be flea combed because she was so thin and boney I was afraid to hurt her. Well, she was very traumatized from that experience and would never let me near her with any sort of brush/comb after that incident. I felt HORRIBLE about doing that to her (they very clearly hurt her badly) and she punished me by peeing on me that night while I was sleeping (first time ever). She was a very effective communicator when she needed to be.... haha RIP Sweet Misty! I will never stop...
Read moreI just had the best experience imaginable at Governor Animal Clinic! My beloved 13-year-old Golden Retriever needed a tooth extracted but, based on past experiences, I was nervous about putting an older dog under general anesthesia. I also had concerns about the wisdom of giving certain vaccines to an elderly dog (another vet had insisted they be given to her prior to surgery). And, finally, I had some real financial limitations.
The clinic I had frequented for years did not take Care Credit so I shopped around a bit, but could not find a veterinarian who really understood and sympathized with my fears and needs. On the very strong recommendation of a friend, I called Governor. From the first phone call to our first meeting, the staff were extraordinarily kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and understanding. I needed quite a bit of hand-holding, and got it in spades.
It turned out my dog also had a benign growth in her mouth, and also needed a dental; but the staff took extra time and care to explain things to me, and did their best to make the procedure affordable. There was absolutely no shaming about my lack of financial resources; it felt like we were a team who put my dog's need first and foremost. I would like to give special kudos to Sara, Samar, Dr. Benitez, and Sue Stutz! You can tell these folks love what they do, and that they care about pets AND their owners.
By the way, my Golden was jumping around and begging to be walked the...
