SAN DIEGO MINI GUIDE! It really is one of California’s most vibrant and laid back cities, a mecca of beautiful Pacific beaches, cute cafes, gorgeous parks, amazing restaurants and year-round stellar weather. Sharing all of my favorites below! Have you been to San Diego? @visitsandiego #visitsd #ad PLACES TO VISIT BALBOA PARK Balboa Park is the beating heart of San Diego, and my favorite spot in the city. There’s a little bit of everything here – spectacular parks, museums and cultural sights. My personal favorites are Casa del Prado, the Lily Pond, Alcazar Garden and the Japanese Friendship Garden. CABRILLO NATIONAL MONUMENT The southern tip of the Point Loma Peninsula is where you’ll find the Old Point Loma Lighthouse, beautiful tidepools and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. HARPER’S TOPIARY GARDEN Inspired garden on a hill that feels a bit like Europe with green shrubs trimmed into life-sized figurines. This is actually someone’s front yard – it’s beautiful! LA JOLLA COVE On a warm day, the calm waters of La Jolla Cove sparkle the perfect shades of turquoise. Gorgeous place to spend the day – keep an eye out for the sea Lions! OLD TOWN SAN DIEGO This vibrant neighborhood is a lovely spot to spend an afternoon, home to boutiques, restaurants, colorful flags and historic 19th century buildings. PARK PRESIDIO Park Presidio sits perched on a hilltop that overlooks Old Town San Diego. It’s home to the beautiful Junipero Serra Museum that resembles an old Spanish-style mission. Harper's Topiary Garden is definitely a hidden gem in the San Diego downtown area that one could easily drive past if not paying any attention.

This topiary garden seems to be well-maintained and remained green and lush throughout our experience.

I like that it is located at the top of a hill, right next to old town and it also allows for views to the west that overlook the city and some of the airport.

The real fun is in the challenge of trying to identify what each garden sculpture is. Some of them are very simple and others of more intricate and cleverly disguised.

Although it doesn't take long to enjoy this experience, it still is rather fun to just stop and enjoy all the creative artwork of this garden.

On a sidenote, please be mindful that you should step back a little further from the garden in order to truly appreciate some of the sculptures and doing so, you will be in the road.

Just be mindful of the traffic that might pass by to be safe.

Really cool...

So, yes, this is basically someone's front yard. Now you know.

But if you don't go, you're kind of missing the magic of it. The sculptures are incredibly well done. It's so cool being able to stand back and pick out what each sculpture could be. The elephants are some of my favorite, but I also spotted a man napping with a potbelly and a Sombrero hat on, a whale, two people taking a selfie, and so much more.

It was two of us couples who went, and my friend and I were more interested than our guys were. They were like "Is this it? Just someone's front yard?" But as my friend and I got into the fun of picking out what each bush was shaped as, the guys started having fun pointing it out to us as well. There's also a Little Free Library next to the plants, and a friendly neighborhood stray that came to greet us. It was...

Harper's Topiary Garden at 3549 Union St. in San Diego is a whimsical wonderland that feels like stepping into a scene from Edward Scissorhands! The perfectly sculpted bushes are a testament to artistry and imagination, with shapes ranging from animals to abstract designs. It's a unique and magical spot tucked away in the Mission Hills neighborhood, perfect for a quick visit or a charming photo op. This delightful garden is a must-see for anyone who appreciates creativity and a touch of eccentric charm! Note: It is literally the front yard of someone's house so be respectful. This is not a...
