Its a nice spot to go see maybe along with a stop at the topiary Garden near Old Town, a stop for a picture at the corner of San Diego St, and California St. May be Ave's not sure. Eitherway both can be Googled and easily found. All in close vicinity to eachother. Also a drive around Hillcrest to look at the old historic homes is pretty neat.(I thinks Hillcrest, it the area close to the bridge)I look them and imagine horse carriages and covered buggies going down the streets. These are not easy To find, maybe try to Google them. I just drove around and noticed these houses have plaques. They give bit of info on the homes and more importantly the date the house was built some as far back as 1894. The woodwork and craftsmanship. Is just amazing, beautiful to see. Make your trip to these three quick stops than head to the secret swing in LaJolla or Civita park in Mission Valley to finally rest and enjoy a brown bag lunch. A great date if you add some cheese, crackers and wine, visit La Jolla secret swing first than the three quick stopsp Than head over ro Civita Park in Mission Valley. With Bev-mo 2 minutes away no excuse to leave the wine behind. Make sure at Civita you go to the upper level of the park to stroll through the bridge.the painting inside ill leave it a surprise but fun to see all the details. Nothings left out of thia wonderful creation. Also hit the bottem of the park to slash in the water by day or by night view the colorful little water show. Enjoy this wonderful route to make a completeñ 9( day in our wonderful city and spend nothing but gas and food. Memories will be great if you can manage to do them all in a day. Its something everybody will enjoy and your pocket will get a needed break. Message me back of you follow these tracks and share your...
Read more🌉 Hidden Gem in the Heart of San Diego! 🌉 I recently discovered the Spruce Street Suspension Bridge with some friends for a nighttime adventure, and what a delightful hidden gem it turned out to be!
🌃 Nighttime Magic 🌃 Visiting after dark added an extra element of excitement to the experience. The bridge swayed gently beneath our feet as we crossed, creating a thrilling sensation that had us all giggling and holding on tight to the railings.
🌿 Scenic Surroundings 🌿 The bridge overlooks a beautiful canyon with lush vegetation below. Even at night, the surroundings felt magical and serene, offering a surprising pocket of nature in the middle of the city.
👮 Good to Know 👮 The bridge closes at 10pm, and there is indeed a security guard who enforces this closing time. I appreciate this attention to safety while still allowing evening visitors to enjoy the experience.
🗺️ Hidden Treasure 🗺️ What makes this spot so special is how tucked away it feels! It's not something you'd stumble upon without knowing it's there, making the discovery feel like a secret adventure.
💫 Perfect Side Quest 💫 If you're in San Diego and looking for something unique to do that's off the typical tourist path, this suspension bridge is absolutely worth seeking out! It only takes a few minutes to cross, but the experience is memorable and makes for great photos and even...
Read moreI feel bad reviewing and bringing too much press to this impressive architectural monument. One of the coolest places to introduce people to in ALL of San Diego.
I've been coming here for year showing locals, new to towners, and dates it's wonder.
It's surprising how few people still know about it and with every word I type that will probably change.
Not a jumpy jump, but more something to be strolled across, take pictures throughout, and to me it's the coolest bridge in the county (even more so than that big white one across the bay). A little gentle swaying or swinging is ok and tolerated, but raukus surflining may catch you tongue lashing or whooping. High heels are not recommended.
Without giving too much away, early evening, late afternoons and full moons are best times. As previous reviews stated spider webs can be a problem. You can find the address by the map view here as I don't' think it has an actual address.
I've seen wedding shoots, Christmas cards and all the rest shot here. When the weather gets bad (for San Diego) it gets a little hairy and there really is no way to stop the movement in the wind, just hang on tight...
