Rental With A View — Local services in San Diego

My family and my sister-in-law's family are so grateful to Rental With A View! We were going to celebrate a birthday and were looking for a quiet but elegant and private location for the occasion, and Rental With A View was just P-E-R-F-E-C-T! The location was great because you can walk to the restaurants for a selection of great-tasting food! And the view of the bay and the airport was stunning at night! You can also drive downtown which was really close. The host was very considerate and gave clear instructions on how to get into the house, and also gave quick directions on how to use or find items in the home! The host was quick to respond to any questions or issues that we had, making sure that we were comfortable with our stay! The house was beautiful and, well, just perfect! Because we have kids, we wanted to feel safe especially with the pandemic -- and we definitely felt assured that the house was clean, safe and healthy for our children. The number of bedrooms made us feel relaxed, without having to worry if we will fit in the rooms -- the size of the beds were substantial, the sheets smelled really nice and clean! The white noise tech in each room were such a wonderful and considerate touch! We didn't really need them because the rooms and windows were sound-proofed, but it definitely added a touch of home and comfort. The bathrooms were zen and had a spa-like feeling. They were well-stocked with towels and bathroom items, that we were not needing anything at all. Since we were there in the middle of the work/school week, we needed sufficient wi-fi for the remote work and remote classes. There was more than enough space for all of us to work and for the kids to attend their remote classes. The wi-fi worked well enough that there were no interruptions in any work or classroom meetings. The kitchen and outside grill were also well-stocked with utensils, dishes and glasses, and items that we needed to prepare our food. And the complimentary snacks and the sparkling water champagne were really a nice welcoming touch! The game room was well-used by the kids (and parents too!) -- the pool/air hockey table was such a hit and provided a great distraction from cellphones and computers! And the pool and spa, were heated up perfectly! The backyard/pool area was extraordinarily beautiful and kept inviting us to spend time outdoors! We really enjoyed our stay at the property on Columbia St. The backyard and observation deck are amazing as others have noted - we had rain one day but took advantage of everything the rest of the time. The outdoor cushions on the deck dried quickly, which we appreciated since we only thought to bring in the ones in the yard. All of the outdoor furniture (and indoors, too) is super comfortable.

Inside, everything is well labeled and easy to use (light switches, etc.) - even the TV which is usually a challenge for me! Be aware though that you need to go up about a flight and a half of stairs to get to the main house from street level - so bring a crew or pack lightly if you're not used to hauling stuff upstairs. The huge kitchen has basic cooking supplies, but you may want to ask if you want to get fancy and will need a particular item. We brought a cocktail shaker and citrus squeezer with us, which allowed us to set up a great little bar where the kitchen counter opens through to the great room. We also appreciated that there was lots of ice in the freezer and bottled water available, plus coffee and a few snacks.

One amenity not mentioned is the heated floor in the master bath - so nice when it's chilly outside! Good shower too, with enough pressure to wash even long, thick hair if you use the handheld along with the overhead spray. A rare find in a vacation rental, where shower pressure is usually lousy.

We had a question about the hot tub heater our first night and Daniel was super responsive. Same goes when we left something behind - we quickly received a response that it would be in the mail promptly. Gotta love great service to go with an awesome property. Would...

Me and my husband stayed at one of the houses rental with a view has and by far is the BEST company/host we’ve ever had. Super responsive and nice which was great ! We found them through air bnb actually and took a chance to see if they’d be willing to let us book since we didn’t meet the age requirement and would be celebrating a special occasion within minutes (this was late when we messaged at least here in NM) they let us know they got our message and would speak with the manager to get us an answer it was so nice that they acknowledged us instead of keeping us waiting ! Loved that . Then we did book a different casita however the resident before us decided to extend the stay so immediately Rental With a View reached out to us to offer us a different accommodation or a full refund , we took the accommodations! Thankfully ! Everything was so clean and neat when we arrived which is great considering how scary it can be staying in a home and with COVID. We had privacy, all the home things you would need , extra blankets, cooking utensils, even games and books ! They had a journal that came with instructions how to operate everything and it even had suggestions on places to see and eat while in San Diego . They texted us the day of arrival and a few days before his to make sure we settled in Okay and had everything we needed to be comfortable . I honestly can’t wait to go back and stay with them again.
