Jessica's Hair & Nails Salon — Attraction in San Diego

I was looking for a place that would be able to trim my hair in layers.

Jessica's Hair & Nail Salon was the closest in the area, and I made an appointment. They were able to squeeze me in on the same day that I called. While I arrived on time, once I opened the door, I saw the "CASH ONLY" sign and panicked. I had no cash on me. I asked if I could run to the bank and come back. They were fine with it. Unfortunately, my bank was 3 miles away and it was prime traffic time. I didn't come back with the cash until 40-50 minutes later. They still took me in for the haircut fortunately.

Once I sat on the chair, a female staff member prepped my hair. Mid-way through she for some reason couldn't continue, so one of the male staff ended up cutting my hair. I appreciated his patience and precision. What I didn't appreciate was the remarks made in Vietnamese by the woman, not knowing that I'm Vietnamese too! I felt like she was a distraction to the guy cutting my hair, and I really could not relax at all.

The haircut was priced around $35, and I left a nice tip for the person cutting my hair. While the hair cut was decent, I didn't enjoy the overall experience. This place is CASH ONLY so be prepared.

For now, I'll still continue to search for a hairdresser I can trust...

I came to Jessica's three or four times before to get a haircut and so far it was alright until today. I went around 5:50pm, waited till 6:30pm for my turn and when it came, asked for the short trim like always. The lady gave me a very quick haircut. The sides looked alright, but I was suggesting whether the top parts are still too long. She said it might look bad if she shortens it anymore. Looking back, I think she was in a hurry to close the store and go home and therefore did a hasty job on my hair. I noticed the porblem with the haircut within five to ten minutes after leaving the store. She did not trim the hair on the left side properly and it is very easily noticable that there are locks of longer hairs (see photos). I called the store back immediately. It was not closing tine yet, but the same lady picked up and said that she already left the store and cannot take care of it today. It was surprizing that they left so quickly. Anyway, the store does not open till 10:30am while my office starts at 8:30. I had to go to another salon to get my hair fixed. I am never going back to...

I never really post reviews but I'm so in love with this place that I couldn't stop myself from posting a review. I've tried multiple hair salons in San Diego for haircuts but I've never been satisfied because most of them cut my hair short and it didn't even look like I had a haircut. If you feel similarly then you've to visit this place!! It's exactly what I was looking for. I met Travis and Jessica, I showed them pictures and I told them how I want my hair to look. Travis did such a good job and Jessica helped too!! They both are super sweet and they listened so patiently and did exactly what I told them. I also did a hairspa which was amazing. I can't wait to go back!!! Love this...
