It was my first time at LH Massage. I was a little hesitant initally based on the location however, I don't like to judge a book by its cover. In my research they had multiple locations and reviews seemed fair.
We arrived at approximately 5:15pm. I was accompanied with 3 guest. We were greeted by the host, In a hurry she asked what massage we were going to choose and wanted us to pay upfront. I let her know it was our first time, I would be paying for everyone and we would like a moment to decide.
The massage selected for my guests was 30min Foot Massage and 30min Full Body. The website quoted a price of $34.99.... Acutal price was $40. The second massage selected was 30min Foot Massage and 60min Full Body massage. No price quoted on the website, the price was $60. Our total for everyone was $200.00.
Having experience with similar massage places I was aware of the imfamous TIP. I paid with my card and wrote in a $10 tip. Under normal circumstances I would not tip until the full service has been rendered and my ability to determine the quality of the service.
My guest walked into the massage area to start their massage. Within seconds I was confronted by the host asking me for more money for the tip. It was very uncomfortable and unprofessional for the host to approach me about a tip in front of my guest and other patrons of the establishment. I let her know that I would be providing a tip upon completion of the service, she continued to badger me, telling me how hard they work and that I needed to provide a tip. Extremely unprofessional. She then asked me if I would like my money back.
I let her know we wanted the massage package and we would tip after. The host replied that we needed to tip upfront and a minimum of $5 per customer is required. I did nothing and patiently waited.
A minute or two had passed and a customer walked out of the massage area and handed the host a cash tip after the completion of their massage. Then a few seconds later another guest came out and did the same thing. The host said nothing and I said nothing. Under my observation, it was obvious that tips were ok after the service.
A few minutes later we were escorted back for our massage, the massage was not too bad... The massage therapist did the best they could and I thought overall it was decent 7.5 out of 10.
The disappointment was that we were booked for a 90min massage and only received 80mins. Being pressured to provide a tip was super unprofessional. In addition, I asked to speak with a manager about the service and all of a sudden no one speaks english anymore.
Would I go back...... H_E_ DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS.... NO. This just my experience, doesn't mean it will happen to everyone... Good Luck and God Speed if you...

Someone was washing something in the sink sounded like they were in the room with me. Kids were running around playing, also was super uncomfortable with my rear exposed and the door cracked as they were right out there playing. Awkward. Not a comfortable setting at all. Parts my massage were ok, the end seemed rushed. Most the time was spent being run through a beach towel, not directly on my skin. Did not leave feeling...
Read moreFor $35 plus tip, the 60 minute foot massage is one of the best deals in San Diego. The masseuses here are strong, so if you need less pressure make sure you say so. They ask for payment upfront. I brought cash (received a cash discount) and I had zero issues with payment. The establishment did not have a more polished look like a spa, plus there was a screaming homeless guy outside walking around, but reasonable considering the price. Keep your expectations reasonable, and this place...
