The Best part of @seaworldsandiego according to my girls were the Orcas. And I agree. We all had a ton of fun - from sesame place to the ultimate grown up ride - Manta - Ayla was finally able to experience it with me by her side. We held hands the entire ride. 🥹 Here's what i suggest you do if plan on going there: 📍500 Sea World Dr., 92109 🐬check their website for one day pass prices (they may have deals) or memberships 🐬wear hats and sunscreen, and bring extra clothes if plan to get wet during Orca show #exploresandiego #sandiegokidsactivities #ilovesandiego #thingstodoinsandiego #travelling #travelblogger #traveldiary #foryou #viralvideos #reels #reelsinstagram #newreel #explorepage #explorecalifornia #trending #orcas #mammals #themepark

This roller coaster is phenomenal. This could be the only one that I had courage to get on in Sea World. As for people like me who are afraid of getting on it, we can also watch or feed the real manta fish beneath the entrance. It took nearly 90 minutes in the line, but it was definitely worth it. We also got time to run for watching the Orca show after the ride, since the Manta location is close to the Orca Encounter.

Manta is a multi‑media, double-launch steel coaster themed after the graceful manta ray. Opened in May 2012, it's designed by Mack Rides to deliver family-friendly thrills without inversions .

🎢 Technical Specs

Launches: Two LSM bursts hitting up to 43 mph (some sources say 56 mph) over nearly 2,800 feet of track .

Height: Max 30 ft with a 54 ft drop into a trench—restrictions per coastal regulations .

Duration & G‑force: About 2 minutes, peaking around 4 Gs .

Capacity: Four-train setup, about 1,400 riders/hour capacity .

⭐ What People Love

Smooth & accessible—A great choice for families and first-timers: no loops but enough pull and airtime to excite without overwhelming .

Immersive queue & theming—Begins in a pre-show tunnel with ray projections, reinforcing the sea-life vibe .

Scenic layout—Cruises past exhibits, the bay, flamingos, and touch pools—combining ride and...

I personally like that the Manta didn't have any high falls since it was fast enough to include that in ( goes about 43 mph at max speed). I did see a few very young (around 6) to very bravely go in this ride, so I suppose it isn't that scary. However, I still; wouldn't recommend young children on this ride since they might get frightened at the speed of the ride. I used to think that the scariest parts would be the twist and turns, but believe me, the most surprising part is how your stomach flips up and down when the ride goes up and down, which is weird since there aren't any high slopes to make your stomach feel that way. If I were to go on this ride once more, I would say maybe since it was a...

The Manta ride operator encouraged me and my family to keep all loose items (like cell phones) in our pockets during the ride. I put my phone away on the counter top by the exit because I didn't want to endanger others. Neither the ride manager nor the employees gave us a basket for loose items. When I exited the ride my phone was missing and when I asked for it back the ride operator insisted that I couldn't get it back until she gave it to guest services at the end of the day. Guest services told me that both holding on to my phone and obviously encouraging us to hold our loose items was against the rules. She needs to be fired for the safety...
