Hibisco Modern Mexican — Restaurant in San Diego

Absolute trash food, we are platinum pass holders and get a double discount for food 1x a month. So we try different food places 1x a month at SeaWorld. Today our platinum pass was not giving the discount when scanned, so that's why she entered the employee discount.

I stopped eating in the park when they added the 5% fee to the already high prices. And each time we have used the double discount coupon it was still over priced for the quality.

The food was not fresh, the loaded fries was cold fries, shredded cheese, and meat on top. Cold, over cooked meat was very hard to chew and just lacked any flavor.

The birra tacos had none of the sauce as they ran out without telling us when we ordered and said there will be more ready in 1 hour. I asked if there was any substitute and a manager came over and said no. I said the plate has 2 tacos and a dipping sauce. 1/3 of the items are not here and at $19 that was not acceptable. Magically she found the sauce and a desert (I said that wasn't needed, just what we ordered). Then another employee walked over with 2 more sauces in hand. I said we got some already. So just magically it showed up?

The tacos had minimal meat and cheese in them.

The salsa bar was very messy and they should just prefill the cups and let you take what you want that way.

Everything is pre-made and sitting on a shelf for employees to put on a tray when ordered.

The only thing that had flavor was the sauce we had to ask for multiple times.

This is the definition of a business only able to exist because it's in a theme park.

Imagine if you will this wonderful journey -

Wait in line for 50 minutes to order

Place your order

Wait at the pick up counter as a group of employees run around with absolutely no idea how to -

Read the orders they've taken

Make any of the 5 menu items they have to order

Have any sense of urgency (they'll just walk away and it'll be one employee left for long periods of time...who knows)

Process orders in the ...order they were taken (the process to get your order after ordering is to wait 45+ minutes and hope they'll call a number, when that doesn't work get in line at the "shouting line" - it's here you linu up with everyone else that has has now waited two hours for a burrito (an hour to order, an hour to prepare).

At this point you'll be commiserating with the other guests, cheering as one order is made every 10 to 12 minutes for the 100 or so people waiting.

When you've received your order - at that glorious moment two and a half hours after you entered the Hibisco's line while your family waited at a table asking when they'd be able to have lunch (Surprise! It's dinner now!), you'll realize you paid $65 for a bowl of hot plate rice and a dried up chicken burrito and would have been better served to just have a pretzel and call it a day.

The place needs training, management, and a commitment to at least pretending like they want a customer to...
