✨️#hosted✨️ My kiddos and I had a fin-tastic time celebrating Shark Awareness Day with a visit to SeaWorld San Diego's Shark Encounter. It was amazing to see so many different sharks like Lemon sharks and the endangered Leopard sharks. While at SeaWorld I learned something new, like the fact that sharks are not eating machines; they eat only about 10% of their body weight PER WEEK! Some more fun facts about sharks as provided to me by @seaworldsandiego : 🦈Most sharks would rather avoid you. Shark attacks are most likely caused from mistaking humans for food or territorial defense. 🦈Sharks often hunt things that are sick, dying or dead, which can helps prevent the spread of disease and keeps the oceans clean. 🦈At least 100 million sharks are killed by humans every year. 🦈Due to overfishing, more than 30% of open-ocean sharks may be threatened with extinction. ⭐️What you can do to help sharks and other ocean living species is to throw away your trash and fishing lines properly. You can also wear reef-safe sunscreen, which can be found in most stores. Just look for the reef-safe label on the bottle. ✨️Check out @seaworldsandiego website to learn more about the many kinds of sharks at SeaWorld and in our oceans. ⭐️Do you have a favorite type of shark? My daughter liked Sydney the most, SeaWorld's lovable shark she could actually hug.😄 ..... #seaworldsandiego #sharkawareness #letsseaexplorers #sharkweek

✨️#hosted✨️ Shark week is coming to an end and my kids and I still can't stop talking about the amazing time we had exploring SeaWorld San Diego's Shark Encounter. We were able to see how sharks ate, and learned that they are very lazy eaters. Did you know sharks eat every 2 to 3 days depending on the shark? After we had a blast learning about sharks from the most awesome SeaWorld Animal Care Specialists and walking through the super cool shark tunnel, my kids and I were treated to a brand new limited time concoction, the Shark Tail. Made with blue raspberry, lime, coconut, lemonade, and for 21 years and up, an optional addition of Tito's Handmade Vodka, Chambord and a shark gummy too. Yum! After toasting our beverages, my kids and I continued to have so much fun @seaworldsandiego riding amazing attractions like Manta and then going to the touchpool to feel a manta ray! Definitely a very fun day. My kids are already asking when we can go back. 🌊What is your favorite thing to do when you visit SeaWorld? Or if you've never been before, what's your favorite sea animal? .... #seaworldsandiego #sharkawareness #letsseaexplorers

Interesting aquarium with a pool upstairs and a tunnel downstairs. The pool had a lemon shark and Australian leopard shark plus a variety of smaller sharks. The tunnel passes under a large tank and is navigated with a slow moving walkway. It contains a host of large and small sharks Plus a variety of fishes. This is a nice place to take a break from the heat outside and the long lines for the rides. There was no wait. The kids will love it.

Sam was our guide and he was nothing short of outstanding. My wife and I brought our daughters in the evening and we arrived at the shark encounter just as it was closing. Sam, rather than rush us through, gave us a tour and was quite impressive as he expertly taught our girls all about the sharks (he was also quite knowledgeable about cephalopods as well). Sam, if you ever happen to read this review: My family thanks you for your kindness and professionalism. You made this a very...

Best part is after viewing the smaller sharks, you keep walking and end up in a Shark aquarium that even goes over your head. That was my favorite part. Totally engulfed with sharks on both sides and they swam right above your head to the other side. Best shark viewing...
