I’ve been looking for a good massage place for a while, and was just frustrated with all of these low rent, crummy thai and foot massage places where they seem like they don’t even have any training, they either leave you in more pain or they are just shady. So I had gone without a good massage way too long. I found Mellow Massage on Yelp and it’s just right down the street. I remember hearing about them from our El Cerrito Community Council Facebook page a few months back also. The reviews were excellent and both my shoulders had been killing me for a few weeks, so I NEEDED this massage. The online booking process was easy to do, you can pick your time and therapist, and type of massage. I like that they have 80 min massages and I ended up buying a monthly membership for $99 for a 90 min each month. I wish they had prices for a la carte add-ons, but maybe I missed that. I like being able to see options before I buy, and I don’t like calling in to find out prices. So please put add-on service prices on the website. Karyna was my therapist and I am 100% going to stalk her schedule so I can get her each time. She is personable, knowledgeable on anatomy and was able to explain some things contributing to my shoulder pain and really focused on helping me find relief. She also was attentive to any pains and sore spots and made the experience therapeutic and not painful. She’s a keeper!
Can’t wait to schedule my next massage
So I went by here several evenings back to check out the new facility. I was hoping for a chiro or massage for my back. The place was empty no one was there at the front desk to greet me. A lady came to the barren lobby and she was Very kind and informative but I felt uncomfortable being there alone with only A single lady/person present at 7pm in the hood on El Cajon Blvd. It just felt awkward and uncomfortable. I'm sure not just for me but for here's well so I left and said I would come back at another time thank you for the information. To whomever owns thus business I suggest taking better care and concern for your employees. This isn't cool for anyone to be in that neighborhood alone at night little on a single lady in a business with no one else present zero video security cameras etc. To me it felt very uncomfortable and grossly negligent on a business owner side. Basically you're putting your employees at risk with zero protection for them at all. You really need to have someone working at the front desk as a receptionist at that facility especially at night after dark and you really need to have security cameras up there as well because there's a lot of violent activity that takes place in that neighborhood as well. Should have a single female working alone in a facility in that neighborhood really made me as a client feel very uncomfortable made the employee had to feel somewhat uncomfortable whether she said so or showed anything of that or not and in general just isn't cool. I hope the business managers are owners see this and make changes so this facility so that it can be comprable to the other facilities otherwise does she close this down because it's a major legal...
Read moreIve been here a few times before and have had a great experience. Unfortunately, not this time. I was scheduled with Ponce who was very kind and attentive. She kept checking im with the pressure, which for a deep tissue massage, wasn't much. I knew she wouldnt be able to give me any more pressure because her table was too high. Fr her first efflerage down my back, her chest squished the back of my head down into the face cradle. Im a former massage therapist and instructor with 20+ years experience before I retired. This person doesn't know what they are doing. A deep tissue massage is slow and deep. She was frenetic and all over the place. She used what felt like a gallon of oil on me so there was no way she was going to create any friction or heat in the muscle. She also lifted my leg for draping from the ankle with no knee support. You don't do that. She didnt know if I have any knee issues or not. She is going to hurt someone who is less athletic than me. That's a when, not an if. I don't know who hired her, but they must have taken pity on her or something. I notice these lower reviews don't ever get a response. I wonder if...
