Boxing Crab — Restaurant in San Diego

Y’all…when I say we ate good at Boxing Crab on El Cajon. We ate like kings 👑. This new seafood joint just opened in March of 2023. I honestly did not know what to expect. I brought my parents who were visiting from Seattle to enjoy a meal and we did! The place was super clean and the people were so so attentive and kind. They provide you with all the things; disposable gloves, limes, crab cracker tools and picks. The 🍤 was huge! And their boil bags come with sausage, crawfish, corn, mussels, clams and potatoes. They have a ton of sides and other individual meals to chose from. Oh, and do not sleep on the seafood chowder. This has amazing reviews and for a reason! I loved trying out this place. Im from Colorado and was visiting with my family. My husband and I were so excited to have our first seafood boil here in California. This place is very clean and the server was very welcoming. They give you lemons and salt and pepper containers which i thought was pretty cool. I got the shrimp with head seafood boil with Hella spicy and one n only sauce. YES it was Hella spicy and I loved it! The shrimp was so soft and tender. My husband got king crab and he loved it so much I didn't even get to try a piece 😅. This is our neighborhood place and we would eat here at least once every couple weeks. However, they started with the hidden charges. I'd always ask for the sauce on the side and plain boil, as the sauce is too salty for my taste. It's never been an issue before and it was happily accommodated with no extra charge. On our latest visit, we were charged $5 for this request. It's like getting a burger & fries, and asking for the fries on the side; then being charged again for a full order of fries. There is a clear intent to deceive here, and hope that customers do not notice. It's a great way to loose your customers that supported you from the time you opened.
