A Great Spot for Kids and Dogs, but Some Facilities Need Repairs

Torrey Hills Park is an excellent place for both children and dogs to play and explore, but some of the facilities are showing signs of wear and tear. The park offers plenty of parking and features a large soccer field (though the grass isn’t in the best condition), a basketball court, baseball field, marble picnic tables, and a children’s playground with swings and slides.

Unfortunately, two of the slides have been boarded up with wood and chains, likely due to disrepair, and are awaiting maintenance. The metal walkway on the playground, however, seems to be a favorite spot for dogs to hang out.

There’s also a large staircase that leads up to a hilltop, offering a small hiking opportunity. At the top, you’ll find the Ocean Air substation, and you can follow a loop trail that connects back to the park through the streets behind the hill. On clear days without fog, the view from the hilltop is amazing—you can see not only the greenery and nearby houses, but also the Pacific Ocean in the distance.

One caution for dog owners: while the park itself is clear, the entrance area and the greenbelt along the streets behind the hill have some fox tails, which could pose a threat to dogs. Overall, Torrey Hills Park is a nice spot for outdoor fun, but it would be even better if the facilities were updated and...

Torrey Hills is a lovely park. Lots of space to run, walk, and walk dogs (on-leash). It has several baseball diamonds, several open-air pavilions with picnic tables, a playground, and a soccer field. They also have plenty of parking, good restroom facilities, and enough trees to provide good shade...

2025-1026: A great park for little kids, featuring a shaded playground under small trees. While the first walking trail was a bit of a disappointment as it leads to a busy road, the second trail offers a pleasant, moderately steep hike up a hill. The view from the top makes the...

This little park is a lovely spot for a walk, with a great playground, a gazebo, and areas perfect for small gatherings. Restrooms are available too. Used to visit in March for the lupines, but right now it’s the yellow flowers in bloom—just as beautiful

Good size park with restrooms, baseball field, one full court basketball jungle gym area on sand. This park also has a large grass area. There are a good amount of cement tables to sit at. I'm impressed. Thank you San Diego parks and Recreation!
