NY Garden Deli & Cafe — Restaurant in San Diego

Staying nearby and there are not a lot of places to eat in walking distance. So my wife and I thought we would give this place a try. The establishment was clean and I was greeted quickly and my order was taken efficiently. I ordered 2 paninis, a Caprese Panini and a Roast Beef Panini. The ingredients were quality but the execution missed the mark. A Panini should be assembled and then grilled. The Caprese Panini's bread was toasted and then assembled and the Roast Beef's meat and onions were grilled and then put on untoasted bread. Neither of these qualify as a panini unfortunately. I was able to take the Caprese Panini back to the room and fix it on the in room range for my wife but you would need an actual panini press to have fixed the Roast Beef Panini.

Will probably eat here again because of the few restaurant choices but will not be ordering a panini if all I'm going to get...

The Amex Hilton card quarterly $60 benefit was almost expired for this quarter. I found NY Garden Deli on a Reddit sub that showed the credit working at their location.

GPS helped us to easily find the small deli along the side of the Hilton Garden Inn Del Mar. Just like the other reviews all say…the ladies in the deli are friendly and helpful.

We ordered Philly Steak and Italian subs. The sandwiches took about ten minutes to be freshly prepared. Both sandwiches were delicious…I might have like the Philly beat but the Italian was very good also.

I will return again when in town and maybe try the tasty sounding Ahi Tuna Salad next time. Breakfast items,soft drinks, beer and wine also avaliable as well as some desserts and sweets.

Tip: Quarterly Amex Hilton card $60 Credit is a good way to get some tasty subs.

Remember the deli...

We are in LOVE and truly obsessed with this delicious breakfast and lunch place on the outside of the Hilton Garden Inn. The food has been mouthwatering. Deserves a crowd daily. We've eaten breakfast here the last few mornings and everything has been the best food we've ever had. Cute little outdoor patio with amazing San Diego weather. Service fantastic and everyone is so friendly. We are sitting here now eating avocado toast and the English muffin sandwich and saying how this is the best food we have ever eaten. Great smoothies, too. Super sad to leave. Will be coming back to this hidden San Doego gem. IF you are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn this is definitely where you should be eating breakfast. For lunch they have delicious options, too. You won't be sorry if...
