OUR BOYS STORY WILL BE TOLD HERE & ON ALL SOCIAL MEDIA!!!
Our cat is gone due to his ‘vet’ only caring about money instead of his health . We brought our boy in because he was acting not himself the vet skimmed past his heart murmur saying it’s normal so we thought nothing of it because if there was something to worry about she would’ve said so. She made it seem like his stomach was what was what was wrong due to what the X-rays showed. She even said he didn’t take good to the sedation for his X-rays which concerned her like maybe that was a red flag???? Our baby died the following day he went from being able to move around to not being able to move & laying in his own pee. I will never forgive her I will always have animosity she failed to educate us on his heart murmur which ultimately was what made him pass. The heart murmur was a sign of the blood clot that was killing him he hadn’t showed symptoms until 2 days prior to his death he was LITERALLY so healthy he was only 2 years old his death was sudden. She also was heartless saying we should give him away because we didn’t have a random $2k to just give that MAYBE would find out what was wrong & would have to pay even MORE for more tests. we ended up doing the xray & sedation which didn’t matter because he was already in the dying process. The reason his stomach was bothering him was because he wasn’t using the bathroom due to being the in the process of dying. The ER we went to we told them all that was wrong & they immediately knew something with his heart not a stomach issue!!!! I’m so glad we didn’t listen to her heartless advice by giving him away cause he would’ve died either way, he died with those that LOVE him not strangers. It still would’ve been nice for his doctor to have tried & I wouldn’t be as raged. At first I felt she did all she could until the ER told us what was wrong & we did our own research. Money was all she cared about not our baby. I’m only giving 2 stars because the vet tech was sweet & cared about our boy God bless her. GO SOMEWHERE THAT YOUR PET IS VALUED. Gone but forever in our hearts I love you...
Read moreWe had a fantastic first experience with VCA Mira Mesa Urgent Care. I honestly had no idea this was even here but I instantly recognized the Aldi's next door. The clinic is very spacious, clean, and odor-free.
My 17-year-old pupper had been limping since Wednesday. Since she's an older gal, I wasn't sure if she had just sprained something or if it might be something more serious presenting itself as she did not display outright signs of pain but would pace and cry herself to exhaustion. I gave it a few days and she was becoming more distressed and everyone was fatigued from the lack of sleep. I called my primary vet this morning, already knowing I had a better chance at winning the lottery than getting a same-day appointment on a Saturday during a holiday weekend. They recommended a few urgent cares, most of which were not open until late evening. But I recognized VCA because I've been to a few of their regular clinics when I first moved to San Diego and they were open that morning and taking appointments via virtual check-in. Check-in was short and quick, and I got the text within 15 minutes that an appointment was available for us.
Once we were there, we waited just a little bit while they prepped a room for us. The lass at the front was sweet and polite (I'm sorry I didn't get your name!) and Lindsey was very helpful in taking notes and getting us comfortable and accommodated in our exam room every step of the way. Dr. Lanigan was incredibly knowledgeable and I felt confidence and relief in her diagnosis. She was patient with us as we explained our concerns (I'm a rambler and I provide context for my context). She was comprehensive and concise, and provided reasonable options for treatment. I also really liked the option to get same day lab results (they said same-day but we got them back in what felt like less than an hour).
Both me and my bichon bestie feel so much better after visiting VCA Mira Mesa...
Read moreI brought my dog in this week due to her eating grapes. She had eaten the grapes about 30 minutes prior to getting there, so we were certain she was going to be okay once we got to the vet. Anyway, the service was very friendly and the place was very, very clean and peaceful. However, the prices are outrageous. We all know that the healthcare system is rigged, it's just that it's sad to see it spill into vet care. Anyhow, the biggest quarrel I have is that their booking/waiting room system was glitching. We tried several different ways and it wouldn't work. This is a huge problem because they wouldn't proceed to see my dog. What if we actually didn't have an accurate length of time that had passed from when she ingested the grape? People could easily guesstimate or just be completely wrong unknowingly. More and more time was passing, and one of two could have easily happened: there's still a chance for her but the treatment would have been more extensive, expensive, and painful, OR she would have ended up dying. I noticed someone else commenting on the faulty system they rely on. PLEASE change this. Otherwise, prepare for really bad consequences instead of several, "it's okay." Anyhow, Im still thankful for...
