This was my first time eating here as a vegan and it is very close to my job so thought I’d try. I asked the lady assisting me what the vegan options were and decided on a crunch bowl with veggie as their falafel unfortunately is not vegan. It reminds me of el pollo locos taco salad it comes in a hard shell and has herb rice, lettuce, hummus, cucumber salad, and the vegetable skewer. For this and a drink it was $20 which imo is a little pricy. The food is just ok and I don’t think it is worth the price. I also don’t like how on the vegetable skewer it has what seems like Roma tomatos. It is a decent portion but the seasoning on the rice is a bit much. I only enjoyed the cucumber salad mainly. Service was good, I liked how the cashier was honest on her recommendations but there is no seating inside besides one table, Im assuming we are supposed to sit outside. Id rather go to LunaGrill a mile away, costs less and falafel is vegan and therefore more filling.

Such a weird experience. Let me start with the way the employee at the cashier somehow thought he could take two customer orders at a time. Leaving me hanging during my order, which I believe is very disrespectful. Second, the portion size of the food they give is a complete joke. For the prices they charge, I dont think they realise how small their portions are. I mean really, I was surprised and annoyed at the same time. I dont think I'm ever coming back at this place again, not when I have numerous other option literally within a half mile radius.

I have been eating here for well over 10 years on a weekly (if not sometimes daily) basis. The chicken wrap is to die for. My husband always gets the chicken kabob plate. Of course you have to always get the yummy hummus and pita bread. I drive 10 miles from my home to eat here, driving past Luna Grill (yuk) and other like restaurants. The food at Marketplace Grille has better flavor, quality ingredients, and the staff is always welcoming and friendly. Picture of the last half of my chicken wrap before I finish it off!

I love this place so much. Marketplace Grille is my favorite mediterranean restaurant in San Diego. Their food is so good, and I used to come here every week… but less now. It’s because I love this place and want it to be successful that I feel I should point out a few things for them.

I feel my requests get ignored too often. I always order one thing. And it’s the same dish every single time, only no sides (so no salad or tomatoes, just rice). But more often than not… I get salad and tomatoes in there. I severely hate tomatoes and onions… but if someone were allergic, the outcome would have been a lot worse.

We all can’t help being forgetful sometimes. But considering there’s only ever 1 customer or none at all when I pick up my order, I feel they can afford to focus a bit more. I don’t get drinks. I don’t get any sides. No fancy requests. Just meat, rice, and water. That’s all I want. And I will edit this review if they get this right from now on.

I’m not worried about prices getting raised, I am more than happy to remain a loyal customer throughout the years. Your food and kind staff is absolutely worth it. Just please, consider this.

Edit: Haven’t had any problems with my orders...
