First let me say that I love Hacienda Meat Center. Was a frequent shopper of the Miramar location which recently closed (hoping it opens up again quickly please🤞)
I’m giving this location two stars in hopes to get the attention of management.
Unfortunately, this location does not handle the meat department as well as the Miramar did.
First time I came here last week, the attendant that helped me in the meat section walked up already wearing gloves, grabbed the steaks I asked for, and still wearing the gloves, wrapped in plastic and handed it to me, with steam finger prints all over the plastic, then I asked for salmon, wearing the same gloves, grabbed the salmon, and again wrapped in plastic, putting salmon juice all over the outside of the packaging. Then I watched him, still wearing the gloves, pull out his phone, scroll, and go to help the next person, wearing the same gloves!!! I was shocked. I was in a hurry so I didn’t say anything and thought maybe it’s just him, not a properly trained employee.
But tonight I went again, and same situation, guy asked if I needed help, already wearing gloves, don’t know if he was cleaning or what with those gloves, grabbed my steak, and without taking them off, wrapped in plastic and handed it to me, steam finger prints all over the outside packaging.
If I was a health inspector, I would shut their meat department down for cross contamination and bad handling until their employees were properly trained. Again I was in a hurry but from now on I will have to ask them to put on fresh gloves. But if this is how their employees handle their fresh meat, how are they handling everything else.
Management, please train on your employees to always take off their gloves and put new ones one, and take the gloves off when wrapping the plastic. It’s basic meat handling. Again, if I was a health inspector, I would shut you down or at least give a fine.
I’ll take back the two stars when I see a change. I truly love this place otherwise and plan on continuing to shop here…until the Miramar one opens...
