The first and most important thing to note is that the food is completely, absolutely delicious, and we really want that message to come all the way across, easily the best Mexican food in the metro area. The carnitas were perfectly tender, the guacamole was fresh, again, the food is amazing!
The way the staff treated us, however, was not.
Now, we need to clarify that due to the pandemic, most of us who went aren’t completely comfortable with eating at a restaurant. We ordered takeout and upon arriving noticed the outside tables were mostly empty, thus we decided to instead eat at the place. It’s not a usual thing to do, fine, but the lady in front had no problem and we sat down.
Two of us went back to the car to tell the rest of the party and we all went back in, the lady in front, Yanisa, who was also the manager, was no longer there. Seeing as we already went through the temperature check and sanitization process the two of us who had entered the place already went to the outside area, and here is where the whole problem started.
One of the staff members, Aimee, yelled at us from all the way at the back of the restaurant, saying we NEED to stay at the entrance until SHE came to us (there was nobody there, and again, we had already gone through the process). So we complied despite her sarcasm us, treating us as if we’d never used a temperature check station and proceeded to the outside.
Our waiter Alexander, who was actually a very nice person unlike the two others, was aware of what we had done and had no issue. We ordered drinks and waited for our take-out dine-in food which came in the bags and foam plates. We asked if instead it could be served on normal plates since, again, we didn’t plan on dining in. Apparently the manager said no, that couldn’t be done (despite nobody having touched or opened any plate), so we asked to see the manager and nobody actually came.
In the end we learned the bad way that this is a take-out place, not a place to sit and eat if that is the normal treatment.
Again, and we want this to be very clear, the food is amazing, but the treatment is not. This is a take-out place because nobody goes out to a restaurant to be treated badly.
Give it a chance, but don’t go there...
Read moreWas looking for a taco spot when I stay in my San Juan apartment and food this place. I ordered the rib eye tacos, tapiquiena soup and a lemonade. The tacos were very good just on the small side, i ordered 3 and i could eat 3 more, the soup was very good but again on the small side. I wish the portions was decent and that’s why i gave it 4 stars. It doesn’t take much to add a bigger portion as that would make people like me come more often then just once a week. You actually would make more money when people come more often to eat.
The place was packed the night I went the basketball finals game 3 was on so the place was packed so had to get a place at the bar to eat wasn’t that bad was able to see the game. A little pricey but the food is very...
Read moreThe manager and valet guy made a very very bad intentioned move on me today. They COMPLETELY LIED to my face about the services offered from the restaurant and wanted to rip me off innecessarily because I complained about something me and other customers were not happy about. Service is the number one priority on a business and they did exactly the opposite. I am not detailing exactly what happened because of a potential legal action against them. I’ve never had a more negative experience on a business like I have had here. HUACHINANGO=NEVER AGAIN Very strongly and emphatically express myself against...
