Visited this brunch spot with my family. The place is beautifully decorated and has a very nice ambiance. However, for a new establishment, I was surprised to notice cobwebs in the corners of the walls.
There was a DJ playing music that day, not sure if that’s always the case. The music selection was good, but the volume was way too loud. It made it hard to hear our server and even harder to have a conversation at the table.
The menu is extensive and definitely grabs your attention, but when the food arrived, I was surprised by the lack of flavor. The sautéed/fried potatoes had no seasoning at all, not even salt or a touch of herbs for presentation. I ordered the waffles with pork belly, and most of the pork belly pieces had very little meat. The skin was slightly crispy, but the taste was off, as if they had been fried in old grease. The waffle itself had a nice flavor, though I would have appreciated more syrup and guava sauce, the amount served was minimal.
My wife and sister ordered omelets, and those also lacked flavor. One of my sons ordered the pork belly as well and had the same experience I did. My other son ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich and he really enjoyed it, that was probably the highlight of our meal.
Service started off great, but once the food was delivered, no one returned to our table. No one came by to refill our water, offer coffee or juice, or check in at all. After we finished eating, we waited over 20 minutes for someone to clear the table and bring the check, and only after repeatedly flagging down our server did we finally get attended to.
Overall, the place is beautiful, but the food lacked the “wow” factor you expect...
Read moreSo we went to Kaffe Haus last Sunday for brunch, and it was fantastic! The place is new and trendy and has great vibes. We arrived at 2:30 pm but they served us with no problems at all(even though they closed at 3 pm) and they had all menue items available. We ordered the triple smatch breakfast burger with fries and the loxs and fried egg bagel along with some iced Macha and a spicy Bloody Mary as drinks. The drinks came out fast, and while the Macha was really good, the BloodyMary was simply the bomb!! It is by far the best Bloody Mary I have had in years and the best one ever outside of the US. It was spicy and tangy and balanced to perfection and is worth a trip to this restaurant just to try it. The food was really good as well the smatch Burger was hughe and gooey and tasted amazing, while the lox bagel was fabtastic and super flavourful(but next time I will order without the egg as it's just to messy🤣). Afterward, the owner treated us to an old fashion, which was silky and smooth, and we accompanied them with an order of their truffle fries, which were delicious. I was highly impressed with this restaurant and am looking forward to trying some of their other dishes. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for a good brunch or lunch restaurant with amazing food at a very...
Read moreWhat a hidden gem in Guaynabo, a place to enjoy a good meal, providing a fairly complete menu, for breakfast and lunch. We visited this restaurant for brunch on a Wednesday, late morning, not busy at all; we made reservations and we were greeted and seated promptly. They have weekly specials and we hit the right week, as they offered Guava Cream French Toast; very well prepared, well balanced flavors, fresh brioche bread, all that made this dish one of my favorite, YUMMY. Loved the special touch, flame torched the top of the bread, as a creme brulee topping, that really made the dish an outstanding choice. We will patronize this...
