In the quiet, upscale neighborhood of San Marino, Lacy Park is a lush and peaceful escape from the city buzz — a true Southern California gem for nature lovers, families, and anyone in need of a serene stroll. It feels like the second Beverly Hills.
🌳 Atmosphere & Landscape: The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by expansive green lawns, majestic trees, and winding paths that invite you to wander. It’s impeccably maintained, with beautifully trimmed rose gardens and seasonal blooms that make every visit feel different. Whether you’re coming to picnic, jog, read under a tree, or just sit with your thoughts, this park gives you space and stillness.
🌸 Rose Garden & Arboretum: One of Lacy Park’s highlights is its rose garden, especially magical in spring and early summer. It also features an impressive variety of trees and plants, making it feel like a miniature botanical garden — perfect for photography or a romantic walk.
🧺 Amenities & Activities: There are benches, picnic areas, open spaces for frisbee or yoga, and a loop trail that’s great for jogging or walking laps. On weekends, you might see families with children, elderly couples on strolls, or even a wedding shoot or two — but it never feels crowded.
💵 Entry Info: It’s free for San Marino residents, but there’s a small admission fee ($5) for non-residents on weekends. Totally worth it for the peace and beauty you’ll experience.
🎯 Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for a calm, beautiful place to unwind or take in some natural beauty, Lacy Park is a quiet treasure. It’s not flashy — it’s elegant. A place where time slows down and beauty speaks so

Read moreAs parks go this is definitely a fantastic park. It’s beautifully maintained and has a great walking track that goes around the entire park, two actually. One inner flatter circle that you may roller blade or walk and run and the outer trail which is gravel and goes more with the topography of the natural landscape, slight hills. It includes a wonderful playground, with a great climbing rope structure that my inner 10 year old is dying to try. Also, brilliantly they have placed the restrooms right next door to the playground, parents, nannies and caregivers thank them I’m more then sure. The most favorite part I’m sure is the rose garden. The area being famous for its roses it’s like something out of The Secret Garden, magnificent. My absolute favorite part of the park however is the trees collection. The park is home to dozens of different species of trees and remarkably at least one of the genus species will be labeled! For a simple tree enthusiast who often takes to the web to try to ID the trees I see, imagine my delight! I’ve haunted my fair share of arboretums but this is one a a hand full of parks that label their trees. For good reason! Their collection is absolutely spectacular! It’s the last day of fall just today and the star of the show is definitely the Quercus alba,...
Read moreBeautifully landscaped and maintained public park! All entrances open into connecting pathway spokes to circular trails surrounding a large central field. The quieter outer trail is tucked in behind the big trees, whereas the inner trail circles the big green field in the middle. The main entrance is off of Virginia Road, at Euston Rd. Visitor parking is accessible inside the park, or along Virginia Road. The San Marino Historical Society’s Thurnher House is located just inside the entrance and is open on Sunday’s. There’s also a memorial just beyond this structure at the open field. In addition, parking is permitted at the west side entrance, along St. Albans Road or in the parking lot. There’s a place to play baseball in the middle field and a large playground to the southeast side of the park, great fun for the kids! Restrooms are located next to the playground by the outer loop trail. Dog walking is a popular pastime here, with dog stations, reminders and a dog fountain. I’d recommend a self-guided loop tour on both inner and outer trails, with a pass thru the rose garden, seen at the park’s west side entrance, off St....
