Medspa California, A Professional Corp — Attraction in San Ramon

[posted a pic on yelp since google won't let me] I had been going to MedSpa California since 2021, primarily receiving lip and Botox treatments from Anu. While I initially appreciated Anu's work, the professionalism, and now service, at this establishment has become a major concern.

One significant issue is their aggressive sales approach, which I find unpalatable. It's uncomfortable pushing for services not asked for in conjunction to photos/posting publicly. Despite clearly expressing my discomfort with photo consent unless compensated (or if I like the person), Anu initially agreed to a discount in 2022 but childishly redacted it later, playing around with numbers and leaving me with a sour experience. Just say yes or no, and don't play games.

In 2023, I encountered Heather, a newcomer to aesthetics, for a lip treatment. Unfortunately, the result left me with lumpy lips (see horrendous photo), an outcome that was worsened by the incompetence of the office when they struggled to process an Alle treatment certificate (issued by Alle after a surgery), despite the terms being clear. Even after confirming the issue in person before leaving the office, they frantically contacted me on my two different phones later that evening, causing unnecessary anxiety and anger. On Monday they suddenly figured it out after I was adamant that they do so. Rather than frantically call a returning customer for payment.. FIOF (figure it out first) before PPUO ("peeving" people unnecessarily off), for a second time mind you!

The overall experience has led me to reconsider recommending it. And I have still recommended this place with an asterick for the unpalatable sales tactic. But the lack of professionalism, coupled with disappointing interactions, has left me unable to endorse California Med Spa in good...

Medspa California was such a pleasant experience. I called in to see if there was any availability and even though they were pretty booked they accommodated my sister and I. The receptionist Emily was even so kind and worked around my schedule. Once we got to the facility, Emily was so delightful and friendly that even my 14 month old nephew thought she was a family member. Once we got the process going, Anu was so welcoming and informative. This is my second time receiving Botox and Anu gave me so much information I never knew. She kindly even went over what to expect the next few weeks which my previous experience did not. I appreciated that Anu gave me a play by play and informed me what areas she was applying botox and how much in each area. I know this seems customary, but the entire time she was very engaging and cordial. I would however would have liked before photos taken of my sister and I so we could see the change. Overall Medspa California has SUPERIOR service and I look forward to...

I purchased the IPL treatment. Upon getting into the room, they had me apply the numbing cream myself. I did not have enough to cover my entire face. They simply told me to put my finger in the container, I had to tell her, I needed more... It was still sparse in some areas. Within 5 minutes she had started the procedure. No warning of when she was starting. Being in the medical field, 5 minutes is NOT long enough to numb your entire face. I was not numb for this procedure. Additionally, I received no directions on when the process was starting. It was extremely painful as my face was NOT numb. She was also very pushy for me to do the “ rejuvenation” on top of IPL. The entire process took a couple minutes. Not the length of what IPLs should take. Afterwards she tried pushing more obage products for me to buy. I had even called in advance to make sure I would be numb....
