Allen Road Park — Attraction in Sandy Springs

The basketball court is in great condition, the walking trail is nice for very young children, the playground is well appointed, the creek gorgeous, and even a sheltered picnic table.

The futsal court is a fantastic heavily used resource by kids and adults from the apartments and mega homes alike. The pitch is in fairly good condition but is wearing fast.

Sadly, use of both the futsal and basketball courts is limited by sunlight since there are no lights. There used to be lights but they have been out of commission for well over a decade. I hope the Sandy Springs Department of Parks and Recreation will add...

We found Allen Road Park on our best home from fishing. I've been looking for parks that are not super busy and they have nice fenced in basketball courts. I really like this location. It has a small playground for the children. Not sure if they have restrooms. The kickball field is usually packed. Since I have been going to the basketball court. I have little to no wait to play 🏀. Great little out of the way, hidden local park with great amenities. There is an elevation change throughout the park, but there's 2 parking lots, one at each level, and there's stairs from the higher elevation to the lowest. The Allen Rd, lower elevation, has a new playground, 2 small pavilions (1st come,1st served only), and a great fenced in U12 Turf Soccer field and recently resurfaced (Feb, 2023) basketball court.
