We traveled here from Florida on an escape game trip for my husband's birthday. The two of us thoroughly enjoyed Ink & Ashes! It had all the features of a top notch escape room.
After doing a few hundred rooms, it's uncommon to find puzzles we haven't seen before, but this game had some really interesting ones. We loved the fact that it was filled with multi-step puzzles and a mix of different types of unique "challenges". Every puzzle was intuitive and gratifying to solve - the right amount of difficulty without being frustrating. It had a good mix of tech and physical locks that all made sense to the theme of the room. Most importantly, it was fun! Emmanuel was our game master and he was absolutely amazing... He had a special suprise set up for my husband's birthday which was extremely thoughtful and sweet and created an exceptionally unforgettable moment for the both of us, (in addition to taking a "photoshoot" of sorts to memorialize our shenanigans for years to come lol). This was our 354th game, and it is one I would recommend to new and experienced escapers alike.
**I hope the owners can pass this message along for me: Thank you so much Emmanuel for providing us with such great customer service and going above and beyond to make our experience memorable. You were wonderful and we both loved your positive, enthusiastic, and welcoming personality!! It's always nice to have a game master that matches your level of engagement and excitement towards the room you play! (The room was awesome, but you honestly took it to the next level and really elevated our experience!) ❤️

Read moreWe came by on a Tuesday night at 5:15pm to their Tustin location to do Ink & Ashes. I believe that’s their only room at this location but it’s worth coming to. We agreed that it made it to one of our top rooms that we have done and we’ve done like over 40+ rooms as a group. We absolutely loved that it was more story driven but had a good amount of puzzles. They weren’t too challenging once you really looked closely and understood what you were trying to do for each puzzle. I’m glad the puzzles weren’t too challenging so you can really focus on the story line without stressing too much. We rushed at times due to time but I’m glad we were cutting it close because it added to the adrenaline rush. David was our game master and he did an awesome job nudging us when we were totally off track or just stuck completely. He also gave us extra time to finish the room because we were so close. Thank you so much, David! The worse thing is to be stopped just because the time runs out - especially for a room with a story line that you want to see the end to. This room truly blew us away and we highly recommend it to everyone. I personally recommend a smaller group like...
Read moreI'm a high school extracurricular teacher, and my class is creating an escape room this semester (which is exciting as I am personally an avid escape room player and so are a majority of my students). I reached out to Exodus Escape Room - Tustin/Santa Ana as they were local to the school, and right off the bat, they were so kind and accommodating. We planned a field trip to their establishment, involving playing their "Ink & Ashes" room and a small Q&A session with the team themselves. We learned a lot about what goes into designing an escape room, from puzzlemaking to props to set design. "Ink & Ashes" was challenging (in the best way) as the puzzles and storyline were unique and clever. Kudos to the team for cooking this room up! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Exodus escape rooms (especially if you haven't been to an escape room before; what a great gateway escape room). I've been to their Anaheim (Anaheim Hills) location a handful of times as well and have had similarly great experiences. It was overall an amazing experience for both me...
