This is, basically, a good place to stay. It is clean and the front desk staff is very nice and helpful. But, for the business traveler, there are two major drawbacks: ||First, they have a later breakfast time on weekends than on weekdays, arguably, because they feel people there on weekends are there for leisure. Wrong. Some of us work on weekends and this hotel also gets a lot of sports teams that need to be up and out early. As a result, they don't put coffee out until 7 a.m. when the breakfast opens -- WAY too late for early risers. There should either always be coffee available like in some hotels or the coffee should at least by out by 6. If the restaurant folks aren't in until 6, they could make the coffee first thing and have it out by 6:10 or, better yet, the front desk could make a carafe that could be out by 6. Some of us have to work early and don't want to use the dirty coffee makers in the room.||Second, the internet station that prints doesn't work. The girl at the front desk said it has something to do with a bad wall internet connection and wanted me to email my document to her. I can't email random work documents to people at hotels. I need to print them directly from my email. So... either get an air printer that is connected wirelessly and skip the desktop altogether so people can print from their phones OR get the internet fixed on the desktop OR get a wireless USB internet device so the computer can connect wirelessly if the wall outlet doesn't work. Instead, they just disconnected the printer. We are paying for that service so it should be up and running.||These may be minor annoyances to recreational travelers but are major annoyances to people who are there for work. One final suggested improvement would be to make sure the pool is really closed and locked at 9 p.m. Unless you ask, this is not enforced and it is really noise with people partying down there until...
Read moreOn arrival at Fairfield Inn & Suits by Marriott in Irvine, CA, I received a clean large room with a King size bed, TV, Free Internet, desk, microwave, fridge, coffee machine, AC/Heater, hairdryer, iron, iron table, and full-size mirror. What more do I need. 😀 I also got a good view.
I also received a Continental breakfast which consists of bread, scones, cereals, milk, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, pork/Turkey sausage, coffee regular & decaf, and three varieties of tea. In addition a hearty hot oatmeal with walnuts, cranberries, brown sugar, raisins, and cinnamon.
The dining area has a nice layout. The floor decked with a colorful carpet, The room has 10 square tables each 4 chairs. Some face a large TV, that shows football 🏈 game. I am facing the hotels entrance that is decorated with palm trees and banana trees. The whole place is clean.
And let me tell you about the staff. Fairfield has a very nice staff. I was greeted by a lovely young lady who is multitasking. She was on the phone, then answered a guest, then tended to me. The kitchen staff also keeps the food coming. Some guests for different bread variations. The staff gladly to help. I noticed not many early riser at 6:30am, but the breakfast area is packed at 8am. I am enduring a weeks stay.
I am not sure what’s up with the weather? It’s cloudy 🌥 yet the sun ⛅️ rays come through every so often. We had a heavy fog this morning. Last night it dropped down to 54F.
They even have a 24/7 wine 🍷 bar. It’s automated without an attendant. Cool. Oh and let me tell you about their free chocolate chip cookies & lemonade. Very nice. It reminded me of Ka’anapali Marriott hotel. Maybe that is their signature entrance greeting. Anyway, I am happy about my stay here. Thank you to all who run this...
Read moreI booked a room at the last minute using my Bonvoy app. From the moment we walked into the Fairfield hotel, I noticed the pleasant environment. We went to check in and was greeted by Matt at the front desk. I think he's the most friendly & welcoming front desk clerk that I've met so far! And I should know because I travel quite a bit and have stayed at multiple hotels. He thanked me for being a loyal Silver Elite member and offered my daughter an item from The Market at no charge. Wow! Never experienced that before! The hotel was in the perfect location for us. The room was clean and comfortable. I read negative reviews about the noise from the freeway. Not sure if we just lucked out, but we couldn't hear a thing in our room!
The only negative were the two women working the breakfast area. They did not look very happy. We were told that breakfast was from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. I guess the beds were so comfortable that we overslept! We arrived at the breakfast area at 8:50 a.m. As I was trying to get some orange juice, nothing came out of the dispenser. One of the women working there says (in a very unfriendly tone), "breakfast is over at 9!" It would've been nice if someone could've made an announcement prior to closing up shop. I was so surprised at how different the interaction was from check-in to getting some breakfast. And these are the people that greet the guests first thing in the morning! For that reason, I could not give a 10 rating.
Another downer was paying $12.00 for parking. It would be nice if loyalty members received...
