I am a loyal Marriott user. I would not stay in this Fairfield Inn again however. There was blood on the sheet. To be fair, it did look like it had been washed but there is no way the person making the bed could have missed it. They had to have known it was there. Plenty of hair left in the shower and bathroom floor. The toilet would stay running and you would have to go in and jiggle the toilet to get it to stop running. The bathroom sink did not drain timely, leaving residue in the sink after use. The housekeeping blows these days, in all hotels really. Our email showed housekeeping as every other day but it is every third day. When I went down to speak with the front desk, they said something about a "refresh" every other day but we didn't even get that. No trash emptying, no fresh towels, nothing. They promptly brought towels when asked for them. When I asked for new linens for the bed, they dropped off new linens so I could make the bed. Seriously. If this was my first experience with a Marriott, I would never be back. I will never be back to this location of their Fairfield, for sure. To give some credit, the staff at the front desk were very professional and the breakfast was always well stocked.

The rooms are small, yet comfortable, with nice beds. They are only cleaned every 3rd day and towels are limited. The hot tub is either out-of-service or unavailable, but the pool is open by appointment only. We reserved the pool one day, from 4-5:30pm, but the pool was gross...leaves, insects, and debris floating all over and a greasy/oily film settled on the surface. Needless to say, we did not get into the pool past our feet. We stayed on 3rd floor, and saw a sign (photo posted) that ice machines were closed in lieu of covid safety measures. When I asked the front desk, the woman said ice machines were open on 1st and 2nd floors. When I showed her the photo of the sign, I asked how it was possible for some ice machines to be safe, and others not...she shrugged and said I have no idea. There were several times I went to the front counter, which was left unattended, and had to wait over 5 minutes for a person to show up. They will not give you very many supplies, ie: cups, plates, napkins, plastic ware, etc. Stating "it belongs to the kitchen and needed for breakfast". I suggest getting those items before your arrival.

Due to a last minute change in travel plans this hotel was unwilling to cancel my reservation. So I decided to stay nonetheless in order not to be charged. Unfortunately, I regretted my decision. A few things to consider when staying here: 1- the staff are very inflexible and more concerned about keeping their money than working with guests. I travel and stay about 150 nights / year and rarely have to cancel. But when I do, most hotels allow it as a gesture of goodwill and to protect future business. This hotel did not. 2- the hotel rooms themselves are filthy with unknown substances on the surfaces. See attached picture. 3- the hotel now charges for parking $12/day which is truly not appropriate for their location. Some hotels do this in OC. However, had they been closed to a prime locale or the airport, I’d understand. 4- when I called the General Manager of the hotel, Che Sutton, he was completely unresponsive and never got back to me. Never a good sign when a GM doesn’t return calls from guests. Truly a mark of bad leadership and poor hospitality. I will never stay here again.

This is, basically, a good place to stay. It is clean and the front desk staff is very nice and helpful. But, for the business traveler, there are two major drawbacks: ||First, they have a later breakfast time on weekends than on weekdays, arguably, because they feel people there on weekends are there for leisure. Wrong. Some of us work on weekends and this hotel also gets a lot of sports teams that need to be up and out early. As a result, they don't put coffee out until 7 a.m. when the breakfast opens -- WAY too late for early risers. There should either always be coffee available like in some hotels or the coffee should at least by out by 6. If the restaurant folks aren't in until 6, they could make the coffee first thing and have it out by 6:10 or, better yet, the front desk could make a carafe that could be out by 6. Some of us have to work early and don't want to use the dirty coffee makers in the room.||Second, the internet station that prints doesn't work. The girl at the front desk said it has something to do with a bad wall internet connection and wanted me to email my document to her. I can't email random work documents to people at hotels. I need to print them directly from my email. So... either get an air printer that is connected wirelessly and skip the desktop altogether so people can print from their phones OR get the internet fixed on the desktop OR get a wireless USB internet device so the computer can connect wirelessly if the wall outlet doesn't work. Instead, they just disconnected the printer. We are paying for that service so it should be up and running.||These may be minor annoyances to recreational travelers but are major annoyances to people who are there for work. One final suggested improvement would be to make sure the pool is really closed and locked at 9 p.m. Unless you ask, this is not enforced and it is really noise with people partying down there until...

On arrival at Fairfield Inn & Suits by Marriott in Irvine, CA, I received a clean large room with a King size bed, TV, Free Internet, desk, microwave, fridge, coffee machine, AC/Heater, hairdryer, iron, iron table, and full-size mirror. What more do I need. 😀 I also got a good view.

I also received a Continental breakfast which consists of bread, scones, cereals, milk, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, pork/Turkey sausage, coffee regular & decaf, and three varieties of tea. In addition a hearty hot oatmeal with walnuts, cranberries, brown sugar, raisins, and cinnamon.

The dining area has a nice layout. The floor decked with a colorful carpet, The room has 10 square tables each 4 chairs. Some face a large TV, that shows football 🏈 game. I am facing the hotels entrance that is decorated with palm trees and banana trees. The whole place is clean.

And let me tell you about the staff. Fairfield has a very nice staff. I was greeted by a lovely young lady who is multitasking. She was on the phone, then answered a guest, then tended to me. The kitchen staff also keeps the food coming. Some guests for different bread variations. The staff gladly to help. I noticed not many early riser at 6:30am, but the breakfast area is packed at 8am. I am enduring a weeks stay.

I am not sure what’s up with the weather? It’s cloudy 🌥 yet the sun ⛅️ rays come through every so often. We had a heavy fog this morning. Last night it dropped down to 54F.

They even have a 24/7 wine 🍷 bar. It’s automated without an attendant. Cool. Oh and let me tell you about their free chocolate chip cookies & lemonade. Very nice. It reminded me of Ka’anapali Marriott hotel. Maybe that is their signature entrance greeting. Anyway, I am happy about my stay here. Thank you to all who run this...

I booked a room at the last minute using my Bonvoy app. From the moment we walked into the Fairfield hotel, I noticed the pleasant environment. We went to check in and was greeted by Matt at the front desk. I think he's the most friendly & welcoming front desk clerk that I've met so far! And I should know because I travel quite a bit and have stayed at multiple hotels. He thanked me for being a loyal Silver Elite member and offered my daughter an item from The Market at no charge. Wow! Never experienced that before! The hotel was in the perfect location for us. The room was clean and comfortable. I read negative reviews about the noise from the freeway. Not sure if we just lucked out, but we couldn't hear a thing in our room!

The only negative were the two women working the breakfast area. They did not look very happy. We were told that breakfast was from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. I guess the beds were so comfortable that we overslept! We arrived at the breakfast area at 8:50 a.m. As I was trying to get some orange juice, nothing came out of the dispenser. One of the women working there says (in a very unfriendly tone), "breakfast is over at 9!" It would've been nice if someone could've made an announcement prior to closing up shop. I was so surprised at how different the interaction was from check-in to getting some breakfast. And these are the people that greet the guests first thing in the morning! For that reason, I could not give a 10 rating.

Another downer was paying $12.00 for parking. It would be nice if loyalty members received...
