I recently ordered a pistol and used their transfer services. I received a call that it arrived at the store and to pick it up. I arrived the next day to get my gun, then the female sporting goods clerk took all my info. When that was done, she tells me I need to wait a week as per NM law before I can take it. She told me come back next Wednesday at 3:30. I waited, then arrived again when she specifically told me to. Then a different clerk was there and told me I was a day early. I explained what the female told me a week ago. The clerk then said well that's too bad, come back tomorrow. I didn't appreciate the way he was telling me so rudely, so I walked away and forgot my ID. I asked my son to get it from the clerk and I guess the clerk got mad. So, the clerk Jay (assistant manager) starts yelling "sir, hey sir!". I'm about 15 yds already and he again starts yelling at me " well if u don't want your gun, I'll just send it right back!!" I turned around and asked Jay " why are u going to send it back?" He then tells me "cause you don't want it!!" I told him I do want it, but didn't you just tell me to come back tomorrow because I'm a day early. Jay became irate at this point and starts raising his voice making a scene in front of other customers and my family. Jay stated to me " I'm so sick and tired of you and your people always unhappy". I'm Native American and he sure was Racist at that point. Maybe, if they (the clerks) weren't so rude as soon as u approach them or even smile, then things would go more smoothly. No politeness from anyone working there and no thank yous for your business with that store. I strongly urge that they give their employees exceptional customer service training Immediately, especially the so called assistant manager jay. Well, I will never return or give my business to that Santa fe store again. Also, knowing that store is Racist and just extremely RUDE!!! I'll definitely be telling my friends and family not to take business to that store anymore because they don't appreciate it...

I can’t express how grateful and appreciative I am for the upper management of the Santa Fe Big R today 04/29/2019. Both the Assistant Manager Joe Cruz and lead Manager went above and beyond in rectifying a truly traumatic terrible experience from the Las Vegas Big R that almost costed me as a valued costumer to the Big R brand.
I even upgraded to a better product at the Santa Fe Big R, spending more money ($120.36). With a feeling of being not only a valued customer but a respected costumer. I didn’t feel profiled like I was in LV, NM Big R.
The Santa Fe Big R has greatly improved over the last year and after today they have my loyalty as a costumer. Their management responded and reacted like a professional well trained team of leadership.
As a Military Veteran who struggles with PTSD, I was faced with anxiety, gender discrimination, and treated like a second class citizen — at the Las Vegas, Big R. I will NEVER return to the establishment until leadership is replaced.

Read moreI went to the store and spoke to one the associate about purchasing specific firearms at the store. I was told they didn't have them in stock. I asked if I could order them and have them shipped there instead. The guy literally looked up both models and I confirmed that those were EXACTLY the two that I wanted. I was told I could have them shipped there and just had to pay a transfer fee and do the regular background check. Sure, no problem. My impression was that I should have no issue doing the transfer.
So I purchased two firearms and had them both sent there only to be told after the fact that they don't transfer two firearms I purchased there. It would have been nice to have been told that BEFOREHAND! They had to ship the guns all the way back to the sellers both in different states, and I had to have them shipped back to another FFL dealer...
The manager certainly had a rude and arrogant demeanor as well. I was trying to see what options I had available to remedy the situation, but he spoke to me with a condescending tone like I was wasting his time or that I was at fault for being misinformed.
