“Wow” is what I want to say about the fantastic customer service and design, product and color help I have received from JP at Bon Marche over the last year or so. For my new yard and patio project, I began searching online for patio furniture ideas and when I saw the Fermob Luxembourg chairs I knew that was what I wanted! Since then, I have enjoyed their excellent and fun website with its wealth of information, photos and helpful videos. So, what else could I need? Well I am so glad I reached out and spoke with JP personally! I was almost certain I knew which table and chairs I wanted to order – but speaking with JP I realized there was so much I had not considered. He was absolutely brilliant – from helping me to catch a sale, to reviewing photos of my half-finished yard, helping with choice of table style and size, knowing how many chairs you can fit down each side of the various tables, and combining colors for the dining set and additional lounge pieces. JP’s in depth knowledge of the Fermob and other lines and all the colors is amazing – he will steer you right! He saved me from a color snafu too, as I was originally wanting to do all my new furniture in the same, quite bold, color – as he says, “there are no rules”, but I think it would have been a bit too much for me. After receiving my new patio furniture and Balad lamps I am very pleased with the design and color choices – and JP has continued to help with post purchase feedback and product care/storage questions. Unfortunately, these days, common carriers are treating merchandise poorly – no matter how well it is packed and labeled. When the carrier crushed one of my boxes JP was immediately reassuring and without fuss or question arranged for a rapid replacement of my damaged chairs. This could have been a nightmare – yet I received amazing personal attention during the replacement process which has been worry free. Read moreon 6/9/2021 I placed an order for an in stock item, which was confirmed as in stock by Jean Phillip (JP) on 6/9/2021. Their website states that due to Covid, their shipments for in stock items are taking from 5-7 business days. Following the placing of the order, I received a confirmation email siting shipments usually within 3-7 days. on day 3 (Monday 6/14) I sent a polite email just checking in on the expected ship date suggesting I was hoping it'd be shipping by the end of the week. No response. On Wed, (day 5), I called and left a polite voice mail asking the same. No reply.... Friday morning I sent another message requesting a status update at their earliest convenience. Within an hour, I received this (verbatim, including misspelling) "Respectfully if your think we are not fast enough let us know, we would be more than happy to cancel and refund your order. We do have overall 700 orders to ship. It is on a first come first served basis, by respect for other clients that have ordered before you, we cannot ship your order before their's. Please let us know if you would like to cancel your order We already have a long waiting list for your table. Thank you The Team" I replied back "Respectfully" and sited their website and confirmation emails shipping schedule and reiterated that I'm merely asking for an update or expected ship date, of which they still hadn't provided. I then received an order cancellation email. They cancelled my order!!!! When I called them to find out why, JP was very rude saying that everyone wants their orders NOW and they can't fulfill them all so they're just cancelling them. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional outlet as this. When I told JP he was rude he said NO, it's just their culture. Well, I just can't with that..... The products they sell are top quality but too bad their customer service is less than quality. I will spend my time and hard earned...
Read moreWe ordered one Fernmob bench for our balcony in Washington, DC. I wondered how it would be delivered and was surprised to learn it would be shipped using a Bon Marche driver and van.
The bench arrived in a box, which the driver was nice enough to take away with him. The driver called in advance, called again with a 15 minute warning, came straight to the building and dropped off the bench, which was in perfect condition. The driver was very pleasant, efficient, kind, and found the building without difficulty.
If you do not live in a condo in a larger building you might not know how much delivery quality can vary or how hard it is to get a driver to find your front door. If you do not deal with front desk concierge's that can be especially prickly you might not understand the stress of having something like a bench delivered. Bon Marche erased the typical stress that we have in ordering larger items.
If you live in a city, please know that this is the business that will care about your order all the way to your door. If you live in a home in a suburb, your experience will still exceed what you are expecting.
