A very unexpected park tucked between the Metro Operations & Maintenance Facility and the neighborhood. My husband, our dog and I were on our way to another park when we stumbled upon this one. We were out late, past the park’s closing time but it was very safe, quiet, and extremely well lit, which is always a must at night. There is a path light every few feet which made us feel nice and safe. The whole park is thoughtfully designed with multiple clean seating areas, a nice well kept walkway, exercising machines, a gated kids playground, a cute gated community garden and a lot of trees and plants. The covered patio seating with grills were so cool and would be a nice location to have a small gathering. They also provide outlets at the tables area to charge your device! We love this little community park and we love that it’s dog friendly!

It's a good size park. It has a little bit of everything. If you want to get a quick workout, they have a section of the park with gym stations. They have two shaded parts for you with benches, tables, and grills for barbequing. The water fountains dispenses for both humans and animals. The kids area has a swing, an awesome seesaw that accomodates for two on each side. Perfect for hoping on with your little one. It also has some rock structures for climbing, a round about, and a sand box. There is a long stretch of grass for playing in. The learning garden is cool, but I think it's only open during certain times. There is only street parking from what I could see.

New park, about one and half year old. This site used to be old telephone company's (GTE) yard. Some if that land was used for metro train maintenance facility, remainder used for park by city of Santa Monica.

Park is named in honor of Mr Ishihara, Japanese american, whose family was locked in camp along with other Japanese by the US government while Mr Ishihara was in US military and fighting in world war II.

Park is a narrow strip about a quarter mile long, have cemented path for walking, jogging or bike riding. There are a few outdoor exercise machines, picnic tables, plants all around, children's play area, drinking water fountains and a learning garden.

No restrooms, no parking in the park. Use roadside parking and walk to nearby Gandara park to use the restrooms. Park is at walking distance to Bergamot metro train station and Olympic and pico...

It is very peaceful and pretty. They have lots of places to sit down at. Machines for exercising and water stations. Very lovely park. I am sure Mr. Ishihara himself would have loved it! Good place to bring the Smallies! They have a little area for them to play. Very romantic park! BBQ Pitts, large tables. Sunday mornings bring a Mexican Dance Company to practice. The only thing to destroy it's peace here is in the early morning what seems to be a scene right out of Alfred Hitchcock 's movie The Birds gets reenacted by the CROWS! HUNDREDS OF THEM! Cuties all I am sure but for sure the car has something to say about it! Very beautiful. Right by the Metro train. Very lovely place to sit and reflect. Nice gardens well lite at night. Always spotless ( except for the white from our birdie friends) from the early morning! Worth going and...
